Finally, a Card With a 0% Balance Transfer APR & No Transfer Fee

When it comes to balance transfer credit cards, you usually can’t have your cake and eat it too. You either have to choose between a 0% introductory balance transfer offer, or a card that has no balance transfer fee. Most of the time, cards that offer 0% APRs on balance transfers come with an upfront fee of 3% to 5%, which makes the introductory offer less appealing.

There are very few exceptions to this rule, which is why we are so enthused about a new limited time version of the Discover More. It offers 0% on purchases and balance transfers for 12 months, without charging an upfront fee.

Out of the 245 credit cards we list that have no balance transfer fee, the only other card with no fee and a 0% intro APR, is the Harvard Alumni Association card, which most people can’t get (let us know in the comments if you know of any others!).

Before you jump on this offer, also be sure to consider the Citi Platinum Select, which offers a 0% introductory balance transfer rate for 18 months, and a middle-of-the-road 3% balance transfer fee. This is still by far the best deal you can get over a 2-year period. Discover has another version of the More rolling out which has a similar 0% for 24 month deal, but charges you an egregious 5% upfront instead of 3%.

Given the lower balance transfer fee, the wider acceptance of MasterCard than Discover, and the fact that we know that approval rates are decently high on Platinum Select, we definitely recommend you go with the Citi Platinum Select MasterCard.
