You can trust that we maintain strict editorial integrity in our writing and assessments; however, we receive compensation when you click on links to products from our partners and get approved. Here's how we make money.

Ever get spammed with those empty promises of free Southwest Airlines tickets? Well, not to fear! This new offer is the real deal! Now, when you sign up for the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards credit card, you’ll get 50,000 bonus miles when you spend $2,000 in the first 3 months – double their previous offer.

When you redeem for airfare, your miles turn into $500 in basic economy fare or $800 in budget “Wanna Get Away” fare. All this with no spending minimum and no time stipulation. Just make one purchase and these miles are all yours.

Racking Up Rapid Rewards

The Southwest Rapid Rewards isn’t one of those hit-it-and-quit-it cards that you grab just for the signup bonus. This card also gives you 2% back when you spend on Southwest, Rapid Rewards Hotels and Car Rental Partner purchases. So, if you stay at a Best Western, Choice Hotels, Hyatt, La Quinta, Marriott, Starwood, Venetian/Palazzo and Wyndham, or cruise in a rental from Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz and Thrifty, you’ll get 2% back, and an unlimited 1% on all other purchases.

Southwest always finds ways to spread the love, even with something as simple as remembering an anniversary. Each year, on the date you signed up, Southwest gives you a 6,000-mile gift, or $60 in standard or $100 in budget airfare. Remember: you can also redeem your miles for gift cards, car rentals, cruises and hotel stays in addition to airfare.

If a little debt has you down, you can also earn rewards on balance transfers at 1 point per dollar transferred. These rewards are capped at 10,000 points, and still have the 3% transfer fee ($5 minimum).

Although the card comes with a $99 annual fee, the signing bonus, anniversary gift and the ongoing rewards rate will more than make up for the cost. If you frequent the friendly skies or just want to fly free, sign up today!
