NerdWallet’s Black Friday coverage begins with the first ad leak of the year. We’ll be writing up all the Black Friday 2012 ads and also keeping on top of the relevant Black Friday news.

Sprint will be selling the Samsung Galaxy S III for only $49.99 with a two year agreement on Black Friday, down from the current price of $199.99. This is the first leaked ad of the season, and it’s a good one. The stock of $49.99 killer smartphones is sure to be limited, so if this is up your alley, plan ahead.

It’s also likely that this isn’t the only good phone deal that Sprint will be offering on the 23rd. Last year, Sprint rolled out a Nexus S 4G from Google and a Samsung Replenish both for free. They continued the deep deals with 4 other discounted phones, a Samsung Conquer 4G for $49.99, a HTC Evo 3D for $99.99, a HTC Evo View 4G for $249.99, and a BlackBerry Playbook for $199.99.

Samsung Replenish $0.00 $0.00 N/A
Samsung Conquer 4G $99.99 $49.99 50%
HTC Evo 3D $199.99 $99.99 50%
HTC Evo View 4G $399.99 $249.99 37.5%
BlackBerry Playbook $499.99 $199.99 60%
Average price: $216.66 $99.99 53.7%

So what does this all mean? For starters, Sprint never offered a phone at 75% off last year, so the deeply discounted Samsung Galaxy S III might be the best sale this year. But with the amount of phones that Sprint marked down last Black Friday, we can be pretty sure to see some more nice models come down for this year’s Black Friday. The items that Sprint discounted last year were a solid mix of top tier gadgets and low cost phones, so again we can guess that we’ll see a decent medley of different models in different price ranges. Stay tuned for more updates.
