NerdWallet will be reviewing all the biggest 2012 Black Friday deals this season. Come back and check in if your favorite merchant’s ad scan hasn’t been released yet.

The Army and Air Force Exchange Service, also known as the Exchange, is headquartered in Dallas and serves members of the military, their families and retired veterans. The Exchange’s Black Friday ad is now out and it’s one of the largest yet, discounting 356 items across 32 pages.

Exchange stores will open at 4am on Black Friday and sell items without charging sales tax (although this information is only really included in the ad for those who have never shopped at the Exchange before. As you can see, there’s a wide range of items available. The Exchange ad is very strong in apparel, digital cameras, electronics, video games, jewelry and kitchen appliances. TVs are also very prominent in the Exchange ad, with four TVs on the first page alone. All these TVs are in limited quantities, so you might have to get up pretty early to score one of them. The Sony 55” LED-LCD Smart HDTV is the most steeply discounted, according to the Exchange ad’s numbers, selling for $799, down from the regular $1299.

With the Military Star card, too, you can have the TV for $23 a month. The Exchange ad notes that there’s Military Star card pricing on the LG 47” LED 1080p TV too, at $17 a month, so investigate further if that option sounds more appealing than the upfront Black Friday discounted price of $599. The rest of the ad is very reasonably priced. Digital cameras and electronics accessories are all solidly discounted, and the video game selection is very strong as well. We can’t tell exactly from the ad which specific DVDs and Blu-ray movies will be on sale, but the ad seems to indicate that quite a few options will be available on Black Friday.

One quick note about pricing on the Exchange’s Black Friday sale. Remember that the Exchange operates with the dual goals of providing everyday value with competitive pricing and giving back to the military community. While the Exchange does have the goal of reasonably building up its bottom line, the Exchange also generates its earnings to provide a dividend to support moral, welfare and recreation programs.

Roughly two thirds of the Exchange’s earnings are paid to thes MWR/Services programs each year. Shopping at the Exchange, according to the Exchange’s website, offers an average overall savings of 25% as compared to patronizing competing stores. In 2011, the per capita dividend for every soldier and airman was $212 paid by the Exchange.
