As you can see from the chart above, the steepest discounts tend to be on computer and electronics accessories. The McAfee Internet Security software is by far the best deal, in terms of percentage price cut, of the items we surveyed.

Other electronics accessories that are near the top of the list in price cuts include the Samsung HM1200 Bluetooth Headset, the SanDisk 32GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive and the Enercell 24 “AA”/”AAA” Multipack w/ Tools.

What dedicated deal seekers are really after, however, are the good deals on big-ticket items such as TVs, digital cameras, laptops and more. There are plenty of these sales to be had in the RadioShack Black Friday ad but there are not necessarily the best of the RadioShack sale.

This is because most of the TVs, digital cameras and laptops are not nearly as steeply discounted in price as other accessories. The HP Envy 14″ Laptop w/ Intel Core i3-3110M, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD, Win 8 (dv4-5260NR) is only down 16.67% to $499 and the Toshiba laptop is only cut in price to $299 from its original $349 as well. These are nice items but none of them truly jump off the ad scan page.

Important Tidbits of the Ad

Here are a couple notes you don’t want to miss about the ad:

Overpriced tablets

Don’t be fooled by RadioShack’s decision to put two Amazon products in the Black Friday ad – these items aren’t actually cut in price. RadioShack will be selling the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7″ 16GB Tablet for $199.99 on Black Friday – the exact same price they’re currently selling it for right now at their online store. Same goes for the Amazon Kindle Wi-Fi 6″ E-ink Display – RadioShack will carry the product for $69.99 on Black Friday, but don’t think you’re getting a deal – it’s currently selling for $69.99 on

Phone contracts

Some of the smartphone deals are absolutely eye-catching, such as the Samsung Galaxy SIII for $49.99, but you’ll need to sign a new contract with Sprint to get that price. The alternatives are a bunch of low cost, no contract phones, but these vary in quality. The Alcatel Authority No-Contract Phone for RadioShack is selling for an advertised $129.99 on Black Friday, but you can get that price right now on We like the Samsung Galaxy Rush for $69.99. Even though it’s not a top of the line model, you could do worse for $69.99.

$10 off coupons

RadioShack’s ad states that you’ll get a $10 off coupon for each $50 you spend in the store on Black Friday. The details and exclusions aren’t clear in the ad, but it looks like the coupon is good for $10 off a purchase of $10 or more in a future visit to RadioShack.
