As you can tell, the majority of the Stein Mart ad is clothing items with a splash of home and kitchen, watches, electronics, bed and bathroom and one TV. The apparel items are quite affordable, usually under $20.

There are some extremely cheap watches as well, going for $7.96. This is only a $2 cut, down from $9.99, but the ad says the ladies’ watches can “compare at $24.99” and the men’s watches can “compare at $20.” The Stein Mart ad doesn’t list the models of any of the watches – surely not brand name – but $7.96 is a very low price and might be work it even if the thing only tells time.

The electronics, while not the main items of the ad, occupy the most real estate on the front page of the ad. There’s a cheap Coby 19” LED HDTV and a discounted Polaroid 7” Tablet. Both are only cut $20 from their original price, but the ad again claims that similar models are available at other stores for over $100 more than the Stein Mart Black Friday price.

On Black Friday only too you can get 50% off you entire purchase of Red Dot Clearance. This is somewhat of a rarity on Black Friday – most retailers won’t allow you to take another discount off already reduced prices – so if you find any overlooked treasures in the clearance section, know that you’ll be able to enjoy Black Friday pricing on those items.

The most creative part of the Stein Mart ad, however, is easily the “scratch & save” discount printed on every physical ad. From 7am to 12 noon on Black Friday shoppers can bring the ad into a Stein Mart store and scratch off the coating to see if they’ve won a coupon of $10, $20, $50 or $100 dollars off.

There are a couple of key restrictions here – shoppers must make a minimum pre-tax purchase of $10 and the coupon must be scratched off in-store. The coupon will be voided if it has been scratched off outside the store. So if you get the Stein Mart ad in the mail and can’t wait to see if you’re a winner, wait – otherwise you’ll void your savings.
