NerdWallet Review: The State Farm Crystal Rewards Visa Credit Card
Promotional APR period: The State Farm Crystal Rewards Visa Credit Card offers an intro APR period. This gives you the chance to make a big purchase and pay it off interest-free for a while.
Annual fee: The card comes with an annual fee. This shouldn't necessarily be a deterrent, or at least, don't discount a card with a fee without doing the math. In fact, big spenders often get a better deal on cards with fees, as they earn more rewards. Credit cards for bad credit will often carry annual fees as well, and are pretty much a necessary evil if you're looking to build credit.
Credit Card Showdown: State Farm Crystal Rewards Visa Credit Card vs. Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express
Same late payment fee: The State Farm Crystal Rewards Visa Credit Card and the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express have the same late fee. Ideally, you shouldn't have late payment fees anyway. In addition to the late fee, you might incur a penalty APR that stays with you for 6 months or more.
Smaller signup bonus: The card's signup bonus is smaller than the Blue Cash Preferred℠ Card from American Express's, which of course means you're sacrificing some money right off the bat. Obviously that isn't the end of the story, though - you also have to consider annual fees, ongoing rewards, and so forth.
