    This scholarship is four outstanding graduating high school senior students from each of the state’s 49 legislative districts. To qualify, the candidates must be nominated by the high school principal and the candidates must belong to the top one percent of their graduating senior classes. Factors considered would be the candidates’ academic achievement, leadership skills, and involvement in community service. The Washington Scholars award represents the highest academic honor that can be given to graduating high school students in the state of Washington.
