The branded credit cards for the IHG family of hotels are elevating their sign-up bonuses, allowing new applicants to earn more points if they spend enough in the first three months. In addition, the annual-fee version of the card is waiving the fee in the first year.

As of Oct. 1, 2020, applicants will be eligible for the following offers:

  • New bonus offer: Earn 140,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. That's 15,000 more points than the card's previous bonus offer, for the same amount of spending.

  • New annual fee offer: $0 intro for the first year, then $89. Previously, the full fee was charged in the first year.

  • New bonus offer: Earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 on purchases within the first three months of account opening. That's 25,000 more points than the card’s previous offer for new cardholders, for the same amount of spending.

  • No annual fee: As before, the card charges a $0 annual fee.

The ongoing rewards of the Chase-issued cards remain the same:

  • The IHG One Rewards Premier Credit Card earns up to 25 points per $1 spent at IHG hotels. This includes 10 points for paying with the card, 10 points from IHG’s loyalty program, and 5 points for Premium Elite status that the card grants you. Cardholders will also get a free night at any IHG hotel after each account anniversary.

  • The IHG One Rewards Traveler Credit Card earns up to 15 points per dollar spent at IHG hotels. This includes 5 points per dollar from using the card and 10 points per dollar from card’s the loyalty program.

  • Both cards also earn 2 points per $1 spent at gas stations, grocery stores, and restaurants, and 1 point per $1 on all other spending.
