Chase is changing up the incentives for Marriott fans who open a Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card or Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card. As of Feb. 9, 2023, both of these credit cards will offer improved sign-up bonuses to new cardholders through April 6, 2023 — a wide enough window to snag an offer for a summer vacation.

New cardholders can expect more points or flexibility, depending on which card they choose.

Updates to the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card bonus offer

The bonus on the $0-annual-fee Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card will double in size for a limited time, but you’ll also have to spend twice as much to earn it.

Here’s how the latest offer compares to the previous one:

  • New offer: Earn 60,000 bonus points after spending $2,000 in the first 3 months from account opening.

  • Previous offer: Earn 30,000 bonus points after you spend $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

  • Ongoing rewards: The Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card will continue to earn 3 points per $1 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels, 2 points per $1 spent on other travel purchases (such as airfare, taxis and trains), and 1 point per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases.

Updates to the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card bonus offer

The latest offer on the $95-annual-fee Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card has more flexibility and maintains the same spending requirement.

Here’s what’s changing and what’s staying the same:

  • New offer: Earn 100,000 bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months from account opening.

  • Previous offer: Earn 3 Free Night Awards (each night valued up to 50,000 points) after spending $3,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.

  • Ongoing rewards rate: The Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card will continue to offer its ongoing rewards rate of 6 points per $1 spent at participating Marriott Bonvoy hotels; 3 points per $1 spent in combined purchases each year on grocery stores, gas stations and dining (up to $6,000 in combined purchases each year; 2 points per $1 spent thereafter) and 2 points per $1 spent on all other eligible purchases.

Are the new offers better?

The bonus offer on the Marriott Bonvoy Bold® Credit Card is an improvement from the one previously offered. You may have to spend twice as much to earn it, but it's not as steep as the requirements on other hotel credit cards in its class.

The flexibility on the latest bonus offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card can also take travel further. The card previously provided a total of 150,000 points in value, but it was distributed across three nights and capped at 50,000 points per night. The latest offer is technically lower in terms of the overall value of points, but you have more flexibility to redeem rewards for more nights based on availability and cost. For instance, if you book a Category 1 hotel for several nights, you can potentially get more free nights with the latest welcome offer.

Marriott Bonvoy points can be redeemed at more than 7,000 hotels worldwide. It’s also possible to transfer points to airline partners or redeem them for car rentals, gift cards or other options. The value of points may vary depending on how you redeem them.
