If you have one of the upper-tier Mastercards — dubbed World and World Elite — you might be able to take advantage of new deals the payment network has forged with such well-known online brands as DoorDash and HelloFresh, as well as expansions of existing deals with Fandango, Lyft, ShopRunner and Instacart.

New deals

Starting April 1, 2021, World and World Elite cardholders are eligible for new offers with:

  • DoorDash. Cardholders who are new to DashPass, the DoorDash subscription program, will get a free three-month membership, while all new and existing DashPass members will automatically get a $5 discount on their first two orders each month when paying with a World or World Elite card. The DashPass subscription offers unlimited $0 delivery fees and reduced service fees from thousands of restaurants, grocery and convenience stores on orders over $12. (Some costs, such as taxes and gratuity, still apply.) The free trial ends Sept. 30, 2022, or "until supplies last," according to the fine print. If you don’t cancel, you’ll be charged $9.99 per month, plus applicable fees.

  • HelloFresh. Cardholders get 5% back on each purchase from HelloFresh, a meal-kit delivery service, that can be used toward future HelloFresh orders. New customers receive a discount on their first few orders.

Other deals

Mastercard’s offers for World and World Elite cardholders also include:

  • Lyft. A $5 credit for every three rides taken in a calendar month. The credit will be automatically applied to the next ride, capped at once per month.

  • Fandango. World Elite cardholders receive a $5 Fandango reward for future Fandango purchases for every $20 spent on purchases of digital movie rentals and movie tickets.

  • ShopRunner. Free ShopRunner membership, valued at $79 per year, which provides free two-day shipping and free returns at over 100 retailers.

  • Instacart. Through September 2021, new Instacart Express members will be eligible to receive two free months of membership, valued at $20, when signing up for an auto-renewing Instacart Express annual membership at $99 per year and enabling an eligible Mastercard card as their default payment method for the annual membership on Instacart.

An offer with Boxed ended March 31, 2021.

🤓Nerdy Tip

Benefits that come from payment networks like Mastercard are different from benefits, like rewards, that come from your credit card's issuer (meaning the lending institution behind the card). Card issuers sometimes choose to supplement or omit benefits from payment networks.
