The limited-time offer described in this article expired. For current offers, see our details pages for the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Premier Credit Card and the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Priority Credit Card.

Sign-up bonuses on Southwest Airlines-branded credit cards will spike to 75,000 Rapid Rewards points, as Americans head into summer 2022 amid rocketing airfares.

Bonus details

The new bonus is: Earn 75,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $5,000 on qualifying purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

The new bonus applies to these three personal Southwest-branded credit cards issued by Chase:

NerdWallet values Southwest Rapid Rewards points at 1.5 cents each. This is a baseline value, drawn from real-world data, not a maximized value.

The downside to the change is the relatively high required spending to earn the bonus.

Previously, the bonus on the three cards was far less lucrative but easier to get: Earn 40,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases in the first 3 months.

Unlike many airline credit cards, sign-up bonuses among Southwest's personal credit cards is typically the same, regardless of card.
