The Uber Credit Card is taking its last lap.
The Barclays-issued credit card, which debuted in 2017, had already put the brakes on new applications starting in early 2020. But as of this week, existing cardholders are being notified that they will be transferred over to a different product called the Barclays View Mastercard.
That's the same card that holders of the former Barclaycard Visa with Apple Rewards product were transitioned to in April 2021. And as was the case with that product transition, the Barclays View Mastercard will not be accepting direct applications.
Here’s a look at how the Uber Credit Card compares with the Barclays View Mastercard:

Notifications are being mailed to existing Uber Credit Card customers this week. Barclays says it will start shipping the new cards, which will have new account numbers, in October 2021.
Until then, customers can continue using their Uber Credit Card and earning rewards on it as normal. Rewards earned on the card will remain intact and be transferred to the new account on a 1:1 basis.
“Cardmembers will retain their points, which can be redeemed as a statement credit, deposit to checking/savings, gift cards or merchandise,” a Barclays spokesperson says.
