Mortgage rates continued to rise in the week ending April 25. Rates for 30-year fixed-rate loans are once again above 7%, which has been familiar territory for over a year.
The 30-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 7.23% APR, up seven basis points from the previous week's average, according to rates provided to NerdWallet by Zillow. A basis point is one one-hundredth of a percentage point.
The 15-year fixed-rate mortgage averaged 6.47% APR, up four basis points from the previous week's average.
The 5-year adjustable-rate mortgage averaged 7.84% APR, up six basis points from the previous week's average.
