Leap Day comes once every four years, but what makes this year particularly special is that it falls on a Saturday, which happens only once every 28 years.

Travel companies are offering Leap Day deals to entice you to spend your one extra day this year (Feb. 29) going somewhere special. Even if you missed the opportunity to book a buy one, get one Alaska Airlines flight for Saturday, there’s still time to leap into action for other promotions.

1. Orbitz Leap Day Giveaway

You could win Platinum Status with Orbitz Rewards when you enter its Leap Day sweepstakes. All you have to do is comment on the @orbitz Instagram post with #OrbitzSweepstakes before 11:59 PM CT on Feb. 29, 2020. Ten winners will get Orbitz Platinum Status for a year (with perks like TSA Precheck and a $50 credit for travel incidental expenses), plus $290 in Orbucks that you can use to book your next hotel stay.

2. Put down $29 deposits on Friendly Planet Tours

You can reserve your spot on a Friendly Planet Tour for only $29 through Feb. 29, 2020. There are 18 tours that are part of this promotion, including a 10-day trip to Thailand that starts at $1,200 per person (not including flights). A Kenyan safari and a Nile River cruise are also part of the offerings.

The Kimpton Taconic hotel really went on all-in on the number of the year. It is having a 29-hour sale from 7 p.m. on Feb. 28 to midnight on Feb. 29, 2020. If you book a stay during the sale, you’ll get 29% off the best flexible rate and a $29 food and beverage credit per night.

Valid travel dates are March 1 to June 30, 2020. As if that wasn’t enough 29s to last the next four years, you’ll also be entered in a drawing to win 29,000 IHG Rewards points. This charming small-town hotel is in Manchester, Vermont, perfect for a getaway from Albany, New York, or Boston.

4. Up to $15 off on Hotwire

You can get $10 off $100 with the promo code “LEAPDAY10” on Hotwire.com, or $15 off $100 with code “LEAPDAY15” on the Hotwire app. These promos are valid when you book during Hotwire’s two-day sale on Feb. 28-29.

5. Get 29% off at Moxy Times Square

The playful Moxy hotel from Marriott in Times Square is offering a fun discount. You can get 29% off and two glasses of prosecco when you stay on Leap Day (night?).

In addition, guests with birthdays on Feb. 29 get that night’s stay for free and a whole bottle of prosecco to celebrate. The sale rate applies only to Feb. 29, 2020, and you’ll have to email to book the deal.

6. Leap Year Sweepstakes at Graduate Hotels

Did you know there’s a whole chain of hotels dedicated to making your stay in a college town cool and comfy? You can use the promo code “LEAPYEAR” to book rooms at Graduate Hotels up to 29% off. The promotion runs from now until March 6, 2020. Plus, when you use the code, you’ll be entered in a drawing to win 29 free nights.

7. Save an extra 8% on Hotels.com

Hotels.com added to its 29-themed discount and went with a bonus 8% off coupon for its Leap Day sale. Use the code “LEAPYEAR2020” when booking to score these savings. The deadline to book is March 1, 2020, for travel between Feb. 24 and May 31, 2020.
