Looking to get away for a little escape? Some Hyatt hotels are offering the Hyatt Night In package, which comes with a slew of perks designed to lure you out of the house for a weekend staycation or midweek getaway.

Here's what you need to know about this new package.

What is a Hyatt Night In?

A Hyatt Night In package includes:

  • Early check-in (8 a.m.).

  • Late checkout (5 p.m.).

  • 50% off parking.

  • 15% off food and beverage at the hotel.

  • Room upgrade if available at check-in.

  • 50% off a second room for children or more family members.

  • A signature culinary, wellness or other experience, tailor made for each hotel.

Only certain Hyatt properties are offering these packages. You can browse the participating properties here, along with the specific Night In perks at each.

The packages cost more than a standard hotel night, but you can also redeem World of Hyatt points for a stay with the Night In package (though you can’t book this deal with points online). Call 800-524-9288 to find out how many points you’ll need for your location and dates and to reserve.

A closer look

We searched some participating properties for a stay in mid-March to see if the extra cost for a Night In stay is worth the perks and extras. Some were. Some weren’t. Here are a few examples.

The Hyatt Regency Lake Washington ✅

Just south of Seattle, this Hyatt Regency offers gorgeous views over Lake Washington. The standard rate for the hotel is $169 per night, while the Hyatt Night In promotion runs $219 a night.

So for a $50 premium, you get additional Hyatt Night In perks like early check-in and late checkout, along with the potential upgrades and discounts on food, drinks and parking — all of which could add up to over $50 in value.

But it’s the other perks that make this stay pretty neat: You get an in-room tepee glamping kit, s’mores kit for the kids and a bottle of wine for the adults.

The Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina ✅

A standard night at this San Diego retreat costs $176, while the Hyatt Night In rate runs $231. For the extra $55, you get a private whale-watching tour for up to four people. When you add in the parking discount, food discounts and potential upgrades, this package could be a good value for some travelers.

The Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor ✅

One of the better deals we came across was at the Hyatt Regency Boston Harbor. While the standard rate is only $129, the Hyatt Night In rate is $30 more, for a total of $159.

For that $30, you get a customized in-room bar cart, charcuterie board and free parking (not just a discount on parking).

Hyatt Centric Center City Philadelphia ❌

Some hotels’ Night In packages don’t offer the best deals for the extra surcharge.

The standard rate at this Philly hotel is $139, while the Hyatt Night In rate runs an astounding $364. For that $225 extra, you get a private three-course dinner in your suite on top of the other basic Night In perks like early check-in. In this case, the benefits don’t appear to justify the big cost difference.

Nerdy tip: Do the math. Just because a hotel package sounds like a good deal doesn’t mean it is. Weigh the cost differential for the hotel you’re looking at against the benefits to be sure you’re getting your money’s worth.

The bottom line

The Hyatt Night In package can be a good opportunity to explore properties in a different way compared to your standard vacation booking. Because this promotion runs through Sept. 12, you’ve got a while to take advantage of the deal.

Make sure to run the calculations of the higher price you’re paying versus the dollar value of the extra perks, as you might find that the upcharge isn’t worth it. In other cases, you’ll find some interesting options to make for a fun-filled getaway or family vacation this spring and summer.
