Audi on Demand is a premium car rental platform owned by Audi. It allows travelers to pick a rental vehicle from an Audi-only fleet of cars. You can rent short term and experience luxury for a day or rent for a few months, all after a few taps on your smartphone screen.

So, if you’d love to get behind the wheel of an Audi, here’s what you need to know about the Audi on Demand car rental program.

What is Audi on Demand?

Audi on Demand (formerly known as Silvercar by Audi) is a car rental service owned and provided exclusively by Audi. As you can probably guess, the company focuses on a premium car rental experience and offers app-based booking with same-day service.

How does Audi on demand work?

The Audi rental program is quite similar to traditional car rental programs in that to rent a vehicle, you need to select your location, pick a car and hit the road. However, the type of car you get isn’t going to be your typical Toyota Camry or Fiat 500.

The Audi on demand fleet includes three vehicle options:

  • Audi A5 Sportback, a five-passenger sedan.

  • Audi Q5, a five-passenger midsize SUV.

  • Audi Q7, a seven-passenger full-size SUV.

The vehicles are located at nearly 40 participating Audi dealerships in the United States.

  • Alabama.

  • California.

  • Colorado.

  • Florida.

  • Illinois.

  • Kentucky.

  • Massachusetts.

  • Minnesota.

  • North Carolina.

  • New Jersey.

  • New York.

  • Ohio.

  • Oregon.

  • Pennsylvania.

  • South Carolina.

  • Tennessee.

  • Texas.

  • Washington.

To find out whether Audi on demand is available in your destination, visit this page and enter your ZIP code.

🤓Nerdy Tip

You must pick up and drop off a car during a dealership’s business hours only, so keep this in mind if you need to get there from the airport.

If your flight lands outside of business hours, Audi on Demand might not be a good option for you. You also need to consider the cost of transportation to the dealership, whether via a ride share, bus or light rail, and the time it takes to get there.

Drivers have access to daily, weekly and monthly rentals. All rentals come with complimentary in-car Wi-Fi, navigation and SiriusXM satellite radio. Same-day service is available.

How to book an Audi on Demand

Start on the service’s homepage and click “Book now.” It’s also possible to reserve a car through the mobile app.

On the next page, you’ll be presented with all participating partner locations. Select the one you need and enter your rental dates on the next page. Pick the vehicle, fill out your personal information and card number and confirm your reservation.

You must be at least 22 years old to rent from Audi.

Is Audi on Demand expensive?

Because you’re getting a premium vehicle and a premium experience, expect to pay more than what you would at a traditional car rental company. Let’s look at an example of how much more you can expect to pay.

We searched for a vehicle rental for a week in Tampa, Florida, and found the following Audi on Demand pricing.

  • A5 Sportback for $95 per day or $665 for a week (excluding taxes and fees).

  • Q5 for $105 per day or $735 for a week (excluding taxes and fees).

Adding a second driver to the reservation is free, but they must be at least 22 years old, have a valid driver’s license and be present at pickup time.

We also searched Priceline for car rentals with other companies, like Budget, Hertz and Sixt, and found non luxury midsize SUVs ranging from $49 to $54 per day (excluding taxes and fees). However, your driving and overall customer service experience will be significantly different.

So, Audi on Demand is going to cost you more money than a rental from another car rental agency, but you will receive a luxury car and a higher-class experience.

Audi on Demand fair fueling promise

We all know about the unfair fuel upcharge practiced by some car rental companies. With Audi on Demand’s fair fueling promise, you’ll be charged only for the gas that you’ve used plus a $9.95 fill-up fee. If you return a car with a full tank, there will be no additional charge, but you are asked to use premium gas in your Audi rental.

Does Audi on Demand provide insurance?

Audi on Demand offers a few types of optional insurance plans to renters. You can pick none or a combination of coverage options for your Audi.

You and your things

This option covers personal accident and personal property insurance. Here’s what’s covered:

Personal accident insurance:

  • $250,000 driver death, $125,000 per passenger.

  • $2,500 medical expenses per person.

  • $250 ambulance coverage per person.

  • Total maximum limit is $500,000.

Personal property insurance:

  • Maximum limit is $600 per person.

  • Total maximum limit is $1,800.

Other people and their things

This option covers claims made by a third party for injury or damage as a result of an accident.

Here’s what’s included:

  • Uninsured / underinsured motorist protection.

  • Excess third-party liability coverage.

  • Total maximum limit is $1 million.

Just the car

This option covers all loss and damage of the vehicle in case of an accident. If you choose this option, you’ll assume zero financial responsibility for the car if something happens to it.

How to get an Audi on Demand car for less

Enroll in the Always Audi program

Current Audi drivers can rent a car from Audi on demand for an entire week for free. Of course, with an offer this good, terms apply.

To redeem the Always Audi weeklong free rental, you must be an owner or lessee of a 2022 or newer Audi model. Then, log in to your Audi on Demand account, select the Always Audi program and enter the code that was sent to you when you purchased your Audi vehicle. That’s it.

You also can request to apply Always Audi days to your rental by emailing [email protected] or calling 855-359-2227.

🤓Nerdy Tip

You don’t have to use all seven rental days in a row. You can book multiple rentals totaling seven days at no cost. This can be a great opportunity to test-drive another Audi if you’re in between leases or treat your family from out of state to a premium vehicle rental while they’re visiting.

Use Audi on Demand rewards points

Unfortunately, Audi on Demand is ending its rewards program July 1, 2024, and no longer offers earning of points on new rentals. However, if you have any points stored up from your previous rentals, you can use them for a new rental until July 1.

If you don’t have enough points, it’s possible to pay with a combination of cash and points.

Pay with a Visa Infinite card

U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card
NerdWallet rating

Visa Infinite cardholders have access to special perks, one of which is a 15% discount at Audi on Demand rentals.

Visa Infinite cards include the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card, so if you hold either one of these cards, take a look at the benefits guide.

Use a credit card with rental car collision damage waiver

Certain credit cards offer this perk as part of their benefits package to cardholders. To avoid paying for additional car protection and to save some cash, decline the rental company’s collision insurance at the counter and pay with an eligible card. The protection would be the equivalent of the “Just the car” insurance plan offered by Audi.

Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card
NerdWallet rating

If an accident occurs when you possess the vehicle, your personal insurance will be off the hook. It’s best to use a credit card that offers this benefit as primary, such as the Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

Keep in mind that auto rental collision damage waiver that comes with Chase cards taps out at $75,000 and is limited to 31-day rentals. Select Audi models are covered, so you’d have to call a benefits administrator to confirm whether your Audi on demand rental would be covered.

Audi on Demand, recapped

The Audi on Demand car rental service is a premium service for drivers looking for a little luxury. Several Audi models are available just a phone tap away. So, pick one and enjoy your Audi experience on Demand.
