Four days of nonsense because the reps do not know what's going on. I was talked over constantly. They clearly don't want my money in their credit union, which is fine. I got the run around about why I can't access my account, but three reps didn't tell me that a letter was being sent to me to verify my identity or some such nonsense. A LETTER?!! This is online banking, so have me send you photos of my ID or something. I was threatened with a $10 charge if I close the account, but I just discovered that if I do nothing and don't send in their verification, the account will close in 11 days. The 4th rep I spoke with was arrogant, talked over me, and turned it all around so it was my fault I can't access my account. A true online bank would provide means to send in documentation online, not snail mail. I'm busy and do not have time for all these games. A customer should be able to fund their account right away without a bunch of ridiculous hoops to jump through. If she can verify my identity by phone with a series of questions, why can't I just email my ID to her!? I don't recommend this credit union. It's simply not worth the hassle and the headache.

What A Nightmare
I searched for good APY, no fees, easy to use online banking, and Alliant was one of my first choices out of about 15 options. I set it up as a savings, but whewn they said I could qualify for checking as well, I jumped on that. I've been with Bank of America for decades and they are so awful, I am ready to move on. I loved that Alliant lets you join by giving to foster care, since I am a foster parent. BUT... I suddenly had two savings accounts and a checking account. I did not want two savings accounts. Them I tried adding my funding bank information, but had myriad hurdles. I called and was told that they couldn't do anything in the after hours department (if there are limits on the 24/7 customer service, state those on your website!). I was told I would be called back. I never was. I figured out that I needed to log out and complete my account set up, so I did that. I had to wait for them to deposit and withdraw money from my funding account, which took a few days. When I went to login and get money into my accounts, I was unable to access my accounts at all. I had to call. The girl (she sounded 12!) I spoke with had no idea why I can't access my account, and she couldn't either. I repeatedly asked for a supervisor to solve the issue. That took forever. Finally the grumpy supervisor couldn't help but say I would get called back by the branch. At this point I am just LIVID. I asked about just closing the stupid accounts since I can't access them or fund them, and was told I would be charged $10. For THEIR mistakes! For THEIR bad service! For THEIR incompetence! I'm either closing them ASAP and they better waive that fee, or they have 90 days to show me they aren't the worst bank on earth. It's been 4 days and I'm completely fed up. I opened a Discover savings account in about 10 minutes that same night with zero issues and a higher APY.
