Overall

4.5

Many credit unions offer better interest rates than banks do, but they also may have narrow membership requirements and less polished technology. But Alliant Credit Union combines the best of both worlds with broad membership criteria, great rates and a good tech experience.

This place has great rates, easy online and mobile deposit options, AND you get up to $20 of ATM fees rebated per month. Friends hunt for an in-network ATM like maniacs, while I saunter up to the first one I see.

BAIT AND SWITCH VISA 3%
I became a customer in January of this year. They offered a 3% cash back Visa with a $59 annual fee which is waived the first year. I received a letter today that the annual fee is going up 40% to $99 a year, and starting on day 366, my cash back would go to 2.5%. I feel completely duped. I would have never signed up for this card given the current terms. Don't do business with Alliant Credit Union.
