Overall

4.0

The checking options at Connexus Credit Union are excellent, with the potential to earn high rates. Rates are strong on Connexus’ share certificates as well. Its website and online and mobile banking platforms are also generally helpful. The credit union’s savings accounts, however, aren’t especially good, and members don’t have access to many branch locations.

Checking

5.0

Xtraordinary checking offers an annual percentage yield of 1.75% for balances up to $25,000. You will, however, have to meet several spending and deposit requirements and accept paperless statements to qualify. If you’re able to satisfy these requirements, Connexus will cover up to $25 for fees racked up at other banks’ domestic ATMs.

Innovative and MyRewards checking weren’t factored into our ratings, but both are good options that also don’t charge monthly service fees. Innovative checking is a basic account that does not pay interest. MyRewards, meanwhile, offers an APY of 1.35% on balances up to $25,000, but you’ll have to meet a few requirements.

Not your friendly neighborhood bank like they'd like you to believe
went there to get them to have two people witness a signature on a will. they no longer do that. nice.... they're too big now, rigid, inflexible, like the big banks.

Treated like a number!
I had a long relationship with a local CU that i was very happy with! Connexus performed a hostile takkeover by buying up the majority shares of my local CU! I was forced into Connexus because I had an existing loan. Today marks the day i finally paid off my loan and can dump this horrible CU! Poor customer service...and treated like a number. They screw up transactions and then tell you they can't fix it and that I have to resubmit transactions! Stay Away!
