Overall

4.5

Connexus Credit Union checking accounts are stellar, with the potential to earn high rates. Its website and online and mobile banking platforms are also generally helpful. The credit union is part of shared ATM and branch networks across credit unions nationwide. But its savings accounts don’t have high rates.

Ratings methodology | Updated March 18, 2019

Checking

4.5

Xtraordinary checking offers an annual percentage yield of 1.75% for balances up to $25,000, plus up to $25 in rebates to cover out-of-network domestic ATM fees. To get both perks, you have to meet several spending and deposit requirements and accept paperless statements. Money above $25,000 earns 0.25% APY. If requirements aren’t fulfilled, the APY drops to 0.20% for that month.

The Innovative and MyRewards checking accounts weren’t factored into our ratings, but both are good options; neither one charges a monthly service fee, either. Innovative checking is a basic account that does not pay interest. MyRewards, meanwhile, offers an APY of 1.35% on balances up to $25,000, but you’ll have to meet a few requirements.

Customer Service is Terrible
I have a car loan that was transferred to Connexus and had no problems. When they sent me emails about new auto loan specials, I applied online. A customer rep contacted me right away but she tried to get me to transfer a personal loan with a much higher balance. When I decided not to do the transfer but stick with a small auto loan, I was no longer able to get in touch with her. I've tried calling her nine times over a three week period. Each time it went to her voicemail. She didn't respond to my emails either. Horrible horrible service. Once my current loan is paid off, I will never do business with them again.

As *FORMER EMPLOYEE* they are the FAKEST company (and ALL companies are fake these days) They paint a warm and fuzzy picture that "Connexus Cares" They are KNOWN for using the ol'baitNswitch, promising things they do not deliver! Its a CLEVER strategy! They slowly sprinkle in the cons as you go IMPRESSIVE ! I walked out after 6 weeks, unfortunately for them I chose to go in a "different direction", towards the Exit, quickly! Also I submitted a review where I *DO NOT* recommend them, but it magically disappeared AND reflects on FB that I DO recommend them! SCARY STUFF YALL!!! I WILL NOT be censored!!!!! RUN! Fast!!!
