Overall

4.5

Simple offers free, online checking and savings accounts designed to be used mostly on your smartphone. It comes with a Visa debit card and a handful of first-rate mobile banking tools. It’s a good bet for those who want to avoid fees and overdrafts and want to bank primarily over an app.

Checking

4.5

Simple offers a free checking account with mobile budgeting tools — but no way to deposit cash directly. The mobile app keeps a running tally of how much money is "safe to spend" after accounting for scheduled bills, savings and transfers, and it lets you save up for monthly bills and other expenses with each paycheck. And it’s not all about online — you can still order checks.

I am appauled. I have excellent credit.. Simple let me fill out all my vital information and then rejected me from opening an account and gave no reason. Meanwhile their site did not allow me to erase my ss # and all my private information. I am now afraid they are a scam?

Deceptive Bonus Offer!
This bank says 10 calendar days to get funds transferred. Which means it includes the day the account is open (where nothing is done), holidays and weekends where money is not being moved at all! On top of that Simple bank takes 7 days to transfer funds to your new account bc they don't start the transfer until the next business day (not calendar day if it so happens to fall on a weekend. So Deceptive!). Online I tried to transfer funds on Wed and it said amount would not arrive until the following wednesday! (That is past the 10 calendar days. So you won't get the bonus) And don't forget your other account has to do small deposits to make sure it is being transferred to the correct account and even then this takes 2-3 business days. Not calendar days.
