New American Express® Gold Card cardholders will have to work harder to earn that bounty of Membership Rewards points.

Beginning on Oct. 17, 2019, the welcome offer is changing: Earn 60,000 Membership Rewards® points after you spend $6,000 on eligible purchases with your new Card within the first 6 months of Card Membership. • Earn 4 points per $1 spent at U.S. supermarkets (on up to $25,000 in spending per year, then 1X).

  • Earn 3 points per $1 spent on flights booked directly through airlines or on amextravel.com.

  • Earn 1 point per $1 spent on other eligible purchases.

  • Terms apply.
