Give your physical Chase credit card a break this holiday season and you could earn some extra Chase Ultimate Rewards® points.

If you use Chase Pay with an eligible card for five purchases of at least $25 each, you’ll earn 1,500 points. This offer is available through Dec. 31, 2018, and among the eligible cards are the Chase Freedom Unlimited®, Chase Sapphire® Card, Chase Sapphire Preferred® Card and Chase Sapphire Reserve®.

Chase Ultimate Rewards® points are generally valued at 1 to 1.5 cents each, depending on which card you have and whether you redeem for cash or travel. That means this bonus could be worth anywhere from $15 to $22.50, and potentially more if you transfer the points to an eligible airline or hotel loyalty program.

This promotion doesn’t include the Chase Freedom®, meaning it won’t “stack” on top of that card’s 5% cash-back bonus categories — one of which, in the fourth quarter of 2018, happens to be Chase Pay.

But if you have a Chase Freedom® and one of the cards eligible for this promotion, you can earn both the 1,500-point Chase Pay bonus as well as the $75 in cash back by also maxing out your Chase Freedom® bonus categories for the quarter.

Chase Pay is accepted at a number of retailers including Best Buy, Walmart.com, Shell gas stations and ShopRite grocery stores. You can also link Chase Pay to Samsung Pay, which is even more widely accepted.

Information related to the Chase Sapphire® Card has been collected by NerdWallet and has not been reviewed or provided by the issuer of this card.
