Little Tikes is a pioneer in providing outdoor play toys for children, from infancy to elementary school. Its brand centers around the premise of creating high-quality toys that promote learning and social play for young children, all while issuing Little Tikes coupons to sell products at affordable, family-friendly prices.
The Hudson, Ohio based company began its story in 1970, when it first started manufacturing children’s toys from its Hudson plant. Today, that plant remains its largest facility, and is joined by a number of other manufacturing and distribution centers in Europe and Asia.
Now a multi-national manufacturer and marketer, the company still prides itself on its original red and yellow Cozy Coupe cars, which have become worldwide symbols of the Little Tikes brand. The cars celebrated their 25th anniversary in 2004, at which time they also achieved six million units in Little Tikes sales.
Founded by Robert G. Murdough in 1969, Little Tikes was acquired by Rubbermaid in 1984. In 2006, MGA Entertainment bought the company for an undisclosed amount, incorporating it into its line of family entertainment products. MGA Entertainment was founded in 1997, and includes popular brands (like Bratz) for slightly older children than Little Tikes had originally catered to.
Much of Little Tikes’ focus has been on durable plastic-based toys suitable for indoor and outdoor play. Its product inventory includes bouncy houses, children’s furniture, bath and pool toys, riding toys and playground equipment. It also offers a number of learning tools, like its iTikes Piano and Canvas teaching toys. Little Tikes prides itself on creating budget-friendly toys that both parents and kids can love; the company also utilizes Little Tikes discounts and sales to bring prices in line with what shoppers can pay.
Since its partnership with MGA Entertainment, it has also included modern options for slightly older kids, like Bratz dolls and Novi Stars. Lalaloopsy and Moxie Girlz are other popular affiliated brands.
One of its newer innovations is the Magicook Kitchen. Representing a move toward toys that incorporate technology, this item utilizes radio frequency sensors to help kitchen items communicate with one another.
Among its top selling items are trampolines, various playground sets, waffle building blocks, sand play tables, bounce houses, sand boxes, pint-sized sports equipment and, of course, its Cozy Coupes. The company offers replacement parts for certain items on an “in-stock” basis.
Many of Little Tikes’ products are popular childcare center and pre-school items. Playground equipment and role-play models like play kitchens and workshops have been especially popular in school and care centers.
Little Tikes does not price match with competitors, but it does offer its own Little Tikes coupon codes, available on the Internet. While its website does not offer Little Tikes coupons, it advises consumers to check newspaper ads and circulars for their nearest retailers stocking Little Tikes for money saving Little Tikes deals.
