With a new year comes new hopes, new dreams, new goals and new products. We’ve rounded up some of the hottest product releases potentially slated for 2016. These are the up-and-coming tech gadgets you should keep on your radar.
Apple had a big year in 2015. It released its first-ever smartwatch — the Apple Watch — and its latest iPhones, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. As well as a bigger, badder iPad, the iPad Pro. In 2016, expect more of the same from the technology juggernaut.
For starters, rumors are circulating about the possible unveiling of an Apple Watch 2 as early as spring 2016. And at the company’s annual September keynote, smartphone hopefuls are eagerly anticipating the debut of an iPhone 7.
Electronics giant LG has pulled back the curtain on its planned releases for 2016. LG is slated to debut several new products, including 21:9 UltraWide monitors, 4K monitors and “gram” laptops.
The new UltraWide monitors have a resolution of 3,440×1,440 pixels, and come in both curved and flat models. The 4K Ultra HD monitors will come in 27- and 32-inch sizes.
The new LG gram 15 (model 15Z960) is a 15.6-inch laptop that weighs just 980 grams. It runs Windows 10 and has a sixth-generation Intel Core processor.
Expect more details to drop on these and other products when LG officially unveils its newest creations at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
Fitbit is known for its popular line of fitness trackers, and soon, its activity assistants could be capable of measuring a lot more than they do right now. So what sort of innovations could be joining the Fitbit Charge, the Fitbit Surge and the rest of the Fibit gang?
There’s no official name or release date on this one, but Fitbit CEO James Park recently told Time that the company has plans to track stats like blood pressure and stress in future devices.
Apple isn’t the only one with new phones on the horizon. Samsung fans are primed and ready to get their hands on the new Samsung Galaxy S7 smartphone. The device could include a pressure-sensitive display and high-speed charging port, according to The Wall Street Journal. At the time of this writing, there’s no confirmed release date.
Dyson is known for its popular line of vacuum cleaners, and that line is about to get bigger. The brand is set to make its first voyage into the robot vacuum space with the release of the Dyson 360 Eye.
Rumored for a 2016 drop, the robot vacuum will feature a 360-degree vision system, Radial Root Cyclone technology for dirt collection, a Dyson Digital Motor V2 for powerful suction, tank tracks for easy maneuvering, and a full-width brush bar. The Dyson Link app will allow users to schedule their robot via their phone.
Those who hope to own the new Dyson 360 Eye as soon as it launches can sign up at dyson360eye.com to receive email updates about the vacuum.
