The retailer will be closed on Thanksgiving, though the sale will begin online on Thursday. This year the bookseller will also be reviving the popular Black Friday Signed Editions promotion, with each branch selling a selection of signed books by prominent authors, such as Ann Patchett, Jonathan Safran Foer, Anthony Bourdain and David Sedaris, among many others.

The biggest Barnes & Noble Black Friday news is the release of the bookseller’s new 7-inch Nook tablet, titled, well, the Nook Tablet. This $49.99 Android tablet, customized with Nook software, comes loaded with 8 GB of storage and space for users to add a microSD card holding 128 GB more. The tablet is equipped with front- and rear-facing cameras, and touts a battery life of up to seven hours.

Along with 30% off any item (exclusions apply) during Nov. 24-27 online and Nov. 25-27 in store, there are also some great gifts going on sale.

Even if Black Friday deals already sound like a steal, double check your wallet before you shop and maximize your savings even more by picking a credit card with high rewards or cash back.

Though the bookseller offers much more than just the written word, Barnes & Noble retains its title as the country’s largest retail bookstore chain, which means there will be plenty of great Black Friday bargains for everyone on your gift list.

Last year’s two-page Black Friday ad offered incredible deals on the expected (books) as well as DVDs, activity kits, games and DVDs. If this year’s sale is like last year’s, stores will be open Thanksgiving Day, but the deals will be online as well, and the sale will continue through Sunday.

In 2015, the best deals included:

  • 50% off select book titles.
  • 30% off any single item, in store or online.
  • $100 off da Vinci Jr. 3-D printer.
  • Buy two, get one free on paperback books.
  • 60% off select DVDs and Blu-ray discs.
