Don’t miss out on all of NerdWallet’s highly anticipated 2016 Black Friday ad leaks this season. Check back regularly for updates on the best holiday deals from your favorite retailers. Black Friday is Nov. 25.

Tablets are among the most foolproof gift items you can purchase, because it’s nearly guaranteed that if people on your list don’t have one, they’d like one. Tablets can be as high-tech (and pricey) or as low-tech (and affordable) as you want; you can do intricate animation on your Microsoft Surface or iPad, or simply buy a Kindle to keep your New Yorker magazines from piling up around the house.

Black Friday is one of the best times of the year to make electronics purchases, and while the mega-retailer Wal-Mart may not be the first place you think of for computer purchases, the chain carries a wide variety of brands and offers some enticing pricing — especially during the holidays.
