PetSmart Black Friday 2014

Pets need wise shopping advice, too – or at least their human friends do! Check out this year’s Black Friday savings at PetSmart in its six-page ad scan below. Then scroll down for our analysis of the deals!

As there will be major savings at PetSmart, Black Friday is the perfect time to stock up on food and supplies for animal friends. The pet store’s six-page ad features just under a hundred deals, including items for cats, dogs, fish, reptiles and more.

All offers are for those who sign up for store’s PetPerks membership.

The majority of PetSmart stores will open at 7 a.m. Friday, although hours may vary by location. Get there early, because the first 100 customers in stores get a free stocking packed with Hill’s dog and cat treats, plus a scratch card with chances to win prizes and more in-store savings, including a $100 gift card for one winner per store.

If you’d rather shop from home, the sale begins at 7 a.m. Eastern time Thursday, Nov. 27, at, and runs through 11:59 p.m. Eastern time Friday, Nov. 28.

Among the best deals, you’ll find markdowns on food and snacks for cats and dogs:

  • Nutro Max Cat & Authority cat food (16- to 18-lb. bags): $10 off
  • Nutro Natural Choice cat food (6.5-lb. bag): $7 off
  • All Purina Friskies cat food (5.5-oz. can): 39 cents (regularly 53 cents)
  • All Purina Pro Plan dog food (24- to 37.5-lb. bags): $15 off
  • Select Nature’s Recipe & Hill’s Science Diet dog food (24- to 38.5-lb. bags): $10 off
  • Select dog treats, rawhide and chews: 50% off

Other discounted essentials for cats and dogs include a 50% markdown on dog beds, select cat furniture and CareFRESH Natural small pet bedding. All Purina Tidy Cats cat litter (35-lb. pail) is priced at $7.99, a 53% discount.

And during Nov. 28-30, you can get 50% off a Pawdicure Plus walk-in package, which includes a nail trim and grind, ear cleaning, teeth brushing and more.

Take advantage of holiday bonus bucks – for every $35 you spend on dog or cat food, treats, rawhide or cat litter, you’ll get a $5 coupon towards those same products.

As December approaches, get your pets into the holiday spirit with themed toys, collars, apparel and accessories for cats and dogs, marked down 50%.

Cat and dog owners aren’t the only ones who will find discounts. If you’re looking to welcome a new pet into the family, consider buying a hamster, rat, guinea pig, gerbil, chinchilla or mouse. Small live animals, excluding crickets, comets and minnows, are marked down 50%. You can pick up a 20-gallon All Living Things guinea pig starter kit for $39.99 (regularly $81.99), and the Zoo Med bearded dragon kit is selling for $94.99 instead of $189.99.

Finally, don’t forget about the aquatic department. You can get 50% off the entire stock of aquarium ensemble sets and Marineland aquarium power and canister filters.

Best PetSmart Black Friday Deals From 2013

For all things pet-related, retailer PetSmart has you covered. The chain store sells food, homes and accessories for dogs, cats, reptiles, hamsters, fish and more. If you’re looking for some basic supplies to keep your favorite animal happy – or thinking of bringing home a new pet – your local PetSmart is likely to have what you seek.

Opening at 7 a.m. Black Friday, PetSmart offered a number of great discounts on a broad range of products last year. Furthermore, the first 100 customers at each store received a free stocking holding more than $100 worth of coupons.

One area for bargains last year was cat and dog food and snacks. Whether in serving sizes or in bulk, chow for your pet was on the sale menu:

  • All Purina Fancy Feast cat food, 3-oz. can: $0.49
  • All Purina Friskies cat food, 5.5-oz. can: $0.39
  • Select Dentley’s dog rawhide, 3 250-count packages: $9.99
  • Select Hill’s Science Diet dog food, 38.5-lb. bag: $37.49
  • Select Purina Pro Plan dog food, 35-lb. bag: $28.99
  • Select Royal Canin & Bil-Jac dog food, 13- 20-lb. bags: $25.99-$46.99

For shoppers looking to celebrate the upcoming holiday season with their furry friends, the store offered a 50% discount on all holiday toys, apparel and collars, as well as regular dog apparel.

Pet beds were another great deal:

  • Grreat Choice Cuddler pet bed: $9.99
  • Top Paw pillow dog bed: $19.99
  • Top Paw XL orthopedic bed: $39.99

When it came to pet maintenance, all dog shampoos from the Grreat Choice, Top Paw and GNC Pets brands were offered at 50% off. Other handy items for cat and dog owners included these great deals:

  • All Furminator dog and cat deshedding tools: $18.99
  • All Purina Tidy Cats cat litter: $7.49
  • All Canine Greenies dental chews: $24.99
  • Cat Genie Plus cat litter disposal systems: $9.99

But the bargains weren’t limited to cats and dogs. Would-be pet owners looking to bring a new animal home found 50% discounts on fish, guinea pigs, select dwarf hamsters and reptiles. Select tropical fish were offered at the low price of five for $4. Terrariums, aquariums and cages were also discounted.

If you’re not planning on stopping at a pet store this Black Friday but still need to pick up some necessities for your furry or scaly friends, you can also find some pet-related items at Target, Walmart and Walgreens.
