Many or all of the products featured here are from our partners who compensate us. This may influence which products we write about and where and how the product appears on a page. However, this does not influence our evaluations. Our opinions are our own.

Are you looking to restock your closet this Black Friday and Cyber Monday? Maybe you want to pick up some new fashionable items while prices are low. Although they haven’t released any information on their Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals yet, we can expect to see some discounts from Anthropologie, Zara and Free People this year.

To get an idea of what to expect this season, take a look at the savings that these retailers offered their customers in 2013.

Founded in Philadelphia, Anthropologie is a women’s clothing retailer with more than 185 stores in North America and the United Kingdom. In addition to its brick-and-mortar locations, the retailer also offers an online store.

During its Black Friday promotion last year, the store offered 20% off everything in the store, including full-price and sale items. The discount applied to its online store (no promotional code needed) and brick-and-mortar locations alike.

The discounts weren’t limited to the 20% markdown. For in-store shoppers, Anthropologie also offered one of five possible “poppers” with each purchase:

  • An Anthropologie-exclusive Holiday Survival Guide (including playlists, recipes, DIYs and more)
  • An online personal stylist appointment
  • A free measuring spoon set
  • Instant discount of $10
  • $100 gift card

These extra rewards gave savings-savvy shoppers an incentive to head to the stores instead of shopping online.

The sale ran all day Friday, and opening hours varied by location. Some discounts continued through the weekend, with sale items marked down 20%. For online shoppers, the promotion ended at 2:59 a.m. Eastern time Saturday.

If you’re looking to take advantage of this year’s Black Friday sale at Anthropologie, don’t plan on planning ahead. Last year, the store didn’t release information on its deals until the last minute: 5 a.m. on Black Friday itself, to be exact. False reports of the sale circulated on the Internet in the meantime, promising shoppers bigger discounts than those that were actually offered. Don’t get tricked this year — check directly with Anthropologie before you set your heart on grabbing that cute dress at a 50% discount and end up disappointed.

Based in Spain, the Galician retailer Zara is one of the largest fashion retailers in the world. With more than 2,000 locations around the globe, the store offers women’s, men’s and children’s clothing.

Although Zara didn’t have any Black Friday discounts, the retailer was among many online stores last year offering Cyber Monday markdowns. For online shoppers, the fashion retailer featured up to 50% off select items and offered free shipping on all orders. You can expect to find similar offers this Cyber Monday.

Free People

Founded in the 1970s, Free People is a bohemian fashion retailer of women’s clothing, accessories and shoes. Geared toward women in their 20s and early 30s, the chain has hundreds of locations across North America and has even set up shop in Japan. Shoppers can also purchase items through the Free People website and stay up to date on its discounts at its blog.

Among its Black Friday deals of 2013, Free People offered 25% off all sale items. For online shoppers, the retailer offered a short but sweet list of items for less than $50. This “Fab 5” collection sold for the limited-time price of $49.95 each: a side-slit V-neck pullover (regularly $98), a Hayden Valley dress (regularly $128), brocade flocked skinny jeans (originally $78), a Crossroads tunic (regularly $98) and Tommy studded Chucks (regularly $128). Furthermore, the store offered free shipping with no minimum order through Dec. 2.

Most of the Fab 5 items are no longer in stock, but we can expect to see a comparable lineup of items this year. Expect discounted prices on pants, dresses, tops and shoes, as well as free shipping on all orders.
