Stylish, versatile and durable: It isn’t hard to understand how jeans became one of the most loved items in the wardrobes of men, women and children around the world.
If you’re planning on purchasing new denim wear, keep an eye out for great deals coming up this Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
It’s not just major department stores that feature impressive discounts on their jeans during the shopping holiday. A look at last year’s offerings reveals a broad selection of online, designer and premium denim retailers that marked down their prices at the end of November.
The details of this year’s deals haven’t been released so far, but to get an idea of what to expect, take a look at some of 2013’s denim highlights:
With a broad selection of styles, materials and colors, AG Jeans offers quality jeans in men’s and women’s sizes. Last year, the retailer offered a three-day sale, from Black Friday through Sunday. During the promotion, marked-down styles received an extra 20% discount.
DL1961 Premium Denim
Whether you’re a man, a woman, a girl, a boy or even a toddler, DL1961 has jeans for you. With a company mission of creating the perfect fit, the denim retailer offers women’s styles for pear, curvy, hourglass, petite, slim and athletic body shapes, as well as maternity styles. The majority of best-selling jeans for men and women range from $160 to $180, with lower prices offered during promotions. Last year, DL1961 featured a six-day sale, starting on Thanksgiving and ending Tuesday of the following week. All non-leather items on the retailer’s website were marked down 25%, and select styles were discounted 60-65%.
Promising premium denim, Hudson Jeans provides a range of styles for men and women, including skinny, cropped, boot-cut and wide-leg jeans, as well as denim overalls, shorts and jackets. Shoppers looking for a new pair of pants can find an array of best-selling styles in the $150-$200 range. Last year, the retailer offered a two-day sale with major markdowns. Kicking off on Thanksgiving, the promotion lasted through Black Friday and featured a 25% discount on everything on the site.
Founded in 1853 during the California Gold Rush, Levi’s has been a staple of American fashion ever since. The classic denim retailer offers a range of styles and prices in men’s, women’s and kids’ jeans. While a few items cost more than $200, Levi’s also features a number of jeans for shoppers who don’t want to pay more than $50 or $100 for a pair of pants. During the brand’s Cyber Monday sale last year, the site offered even better prices, with a 40% discount across its entire inventory. The promotion included free shipping and required the code CYBER40 or SAVE40.
Women’s apparel retailer Madewell is known for its jeans, shoes, bags, T-shirts, dresses and more. Shoppers looking for denim last year could find excellent prices during the store’s Black Friday promotion, offered both in its online store and its numerous brick-and-mortar locations. Starting on Black Friday, in-store items were marked down 50% until 10 a.m. That meant significant savings at a store where jeans usually cost anywhere from $100 to $500 a pair. For online shoppers, and from 10 a.m. onward in stores, items were discounted in a tiered promotion: A purchase of $150 qualified the shopper for a 20% discount, spending $250 meant a 25% markdown and those who spent $350 got 30% off.
Promising the “original slimming jean,” NYDJ offers women’s denim in regular, petite and plus sizes. During the store’s Cyber Monday promotion last year, shoppers who purchased at least $150 at nydj.com received a 20% discount. For two pairs of jeans originally priced at $110 each, that adds up to $44 in savings.
Based in California, denim retailer True Religion features designer denim jeans for men, women and kids. In addition to pants, the retailer offers denim shirts and outerwear in a variety of materials. During its Black Friday sale last year, shoppers could receive $75 to $100 off select denim items. The promotion began on Thanksgiving and lasted through Cyber Monday.
