It’s the store that has practically become synonymous with children’s Christmas gifts – Toys R Us. If you’re looking for stuffed animals, dolls, games or seemingly any other kind of toy, the retail giant has some impressive price cuts to offer you on Black Friday.

But before you stand in line, read on to see if you’ll be a winner or a loser at Toys R Us this season.

Analyzing the Ad

This Black Friday, Toys R Us is inviting shoppers to enjoy percent-off discounts of 50% or more on the season’s hottest toys. The retailer is boasting sales on more than 200 doorbuster toys that look like they’ve come straight out of Santa’s workshop. Toys R Us will begin its Black Friday deals at 5 p.m. on Thanksgiving. Special price cuts will be available from 5 to 9 p.m. while supplies last.

In case you haven’t seen it for yourself, here are some of the best deals from the 28-page 2014 Toys R Us Black Friday ad:

Winner: Rewards Member

Without a doubt, the biggest winners at Toys R Us this year are the store’s Rewards R Us members.

The retailer recently announced that rewards members will receive special access to Black Friday deals on more than 100 items beginning both in-store and online Sunday, Nov. 23. That is a head start of four whole days over nonmembers, who will have to wait until sales begin Thursday, Nov. 27.

Winner: ‘Frozen’ Fan

Whether your son or daughter loves Olaf, Anna or Elsa, you can find nearly every item to satisfy every “Frozen” fan at Toys R Us this Thanksgiving. The retailer has gone all out with the Disney “Frozen” theme, highlighting sales on “Frozen”-inspired play tents, gift sets, backpacks and more.

There are also unique items sure to delight movie fans of any age. The “Frozen” Disco Party CDG Karaoke With Lights, for example, will be on sale for $49.99. That’s $30 off the machine’s original $79.99 price.

You won’t just be able to purchase some really neat discounted toys, either. There’s even a 25% off sale on girls’ “Frozen” clothing, sleepwear and accessories.

Winner: Plugged-In Player

Sure, Toys R Us is having sales on traditional toys – such as action figures, remote control cars and train sets – but you’ll really be a winner at the store this Thanksgiving if your child is asking for a tech toy.

For kids who want to be as plugged into technology as their parents are, the retailer is boasting discounts on items such as learning tablets, handheld digital games and video game consoles. There will be discounts on video games and gaming software as well.

Plus, the store even has a number of brand name tablets to offer. There will be a $50-off sale on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0 and a $20-off sale on the Amazon Fire HD 6 Tablet.

Loser: Cybershopper

Forget Cyber Monday. More and more shoppers are electing to make online purchases on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Unfortunately, snagging the Toys R Us deals online could be difficult. Sales will in fact be offered at the retailer’s online storefront, but many of the most impressive price cuts won’t be included. In fact, every single item on the front page of the ad is accompanied by an “offer available in store only” notice in fine print.

So if your daughter or son wants that Disney “Frozen” Olaf Jumbo Plush, you’ll need to head to a store to get the more than 30% discount.
