The Nikon D3200 DSLR camera has been named a best camera to travel with by CNN Travel, so you will absolutely want to pack it in your backpack on your next trip along with a few extra accessories to ensure that you bring home photos that you will want to show off to all of your friends.

Extra Batteries

The first thing you will want to pack along with your Nikon D3200 is an extra rechargeable battery. You don’t want to be snapping photos of your family at the Eiffel Tower or at the Egyptian Pyramids only to find that you ran out of power. On average, your camera’s battery will allow you to take between 500 and 540 photos before you need a recharge and by spending about $26.99, you can have a spare battery just in case.

Additional SD Cards

If you plan on taking a lot of video during your next trip, you will want to purchase an extra SD card to ramp up your storage capability. After all you don’t want to miss that video clip of your kids looking at the Grand Canyon for the first time.  SD cards range in price depending on their storage capability, but on average, you can grab a 16 GB card for about $10 and for $40 you can get a card that will store 64 GB.

A Camera Strap

While visiting the sites, you will want to have your camera easily accessible and not have to dig for it in your bag. The best thing to purchase before your trip is a sturdy camera strap. You will also want to try it out with your camera to ensure that it is comfortable around your neck. It is also a good idea to use a camera strap if you plan on taking a lot of photos around water — your camera is not waterproof so it’s a smart idea to take precautions by always keeping your camera secured around your neck while near water. A camera strap from Nikon will run you about $22.00 – and remember, you can probably find a coupon or sale to apply to your strap purchase.

Smartphone or Tablet

Be sure to pack your smartphone and tablet so that you can share the photos and video you take on your Nikon D3200 right away with friends and family.  Your Nikon D3200 comes equipped with wifi so be sure to take advantage of the feature by sending your best  photos to your smartphone or tablet to upload to your social media accounts.
