Best Family Dollar Black Friday Deals From 2013

With more than 8,000 locations around the country, discount variety chain Family Dollar offers low prices on food, clothing, housewares and more. Last year, the store featured impressive deals on a range of items, including toys, electronics and bedding. A one-day sale ran from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, alongside a three-day sale lasting through Saturday.

A huge selection of items featured buy-one-get-one (BOGO) offers, in which the purchase of an item came with a discount of 50%, 60% or 70% on a second item of the same type. The largest discounts were on toys and holiday supplies, but even electronics featured markdowns of 50%.

  • All toys: BOGO 70% off
  • All trees, lights, ornaments and holiday décor: BOGO 70% off
  • All cold-weather accessories: BOGO 60% off
  • Sleepwear: BOGO 60% off
  • Micro plush or fleece throws: BOGO 60% off
  • Assorted bed pillows: BOGO 60% off
  • All bath accessories: BOGO 60% off
  • All bedding: BOGO 60% off
  • All wall décor and jar candles: BOGO 60% off
  • All electronics (except cellphones): BOGO 50% off
  • All batteries: BOGO 50% off
  • As-seen-on-TV products: BOGO 50% off

The deals on toys were especially impressive, compared with other retailers.’ Blain’s Farm and Fleet, in comparison, had only 15% off toys, while Gordmans offered a 33% discount on its entire stock of Barbie and Little People toys, games and card sets. Family Dollar’s deal wasn’t limited to any specific brand, applying to the store’s entire selection of toys.

For shoppers looking to spend less than $10, Family Dollar offered a range of handy kitchen supplies and home appliances for the fantastic price of $8:

  • 1-cup coffee maker
  • 5-speed hand mixer
  • Mini food chopper
  • 2-slice toaster
  • Iron

The $8 selection also featured select home décor gifts.
