Looking for a way to get a full picture of your health? The Fitbit Flex and the Fitbit Zip, both stylish and smart activity-trackers, are excellent solutions for people interested in reaching their fitness goals. With these devices, you can check your fitness progress using the Fitbit dashboard on your PC or Mac, participate in Fitbit challenges, and track your results. With great customer reviews for both products,

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, “People developed a trust in our brand,” Fitbit CEO James Park spoke of the trust people have found in their company’s product. This is reflected in the glowing customer reviews across the internet for both products, but the question arises: Is the Flex or the Zip right for me? Here are some things to keep in mind when you’re shopping.

Close look at the Fitbit Zip

As a low-cost and lightweight option, the Zip has a display screen where you can see track your activity and check the time, making all your information easily accessible. Plus, the discreet clip-on design of the Zip makes it easy to tuck into a pocket or coat. It also syncs up with the same Fitbit dashboard the Flex. Want to participate in the same challenges and competitions as your friend who has a Fitbit Flex? With a Zip, you can.

The downside

Because the Zip is only the size of a quarter, it can be easy to lose. Unlike the LED lights on the Flex, the Zip’s OLED display isn’t visible in the dark.

The verdict

The Zip is smaller and doesn’t include all the features the Fitbit Flex does, such as the sleep-tracker or the silent alarm, but it’s an excellent and cost-efficient option for people looking for a smart activity-tracker that’s easy to carry and use.

Close look at the Fitbit Flex

Carrying sophisticated features with a minimalist design, the Flex’s lightweight wristband makes it difficult to lose. As one of the subtle perks of this device, the silent alarm feature allows the user to wake up in the morning without waking up his or her partner. The Flex also has goal-setting and sleep-tracking features which can help you get a fuller picture of your health. The rechargeable battery makes this device ideal for longterm use.

The downside

Because the Flex displays your activity process with five dots (each dot represents 20% of your daily goal)  instead of a full display, you can’t check the time on this device. Some users also found that the wristband was too loose for them.

The verdict

The list price of $99.95 also makes the Flex a splurge, but with NerdWallet’s DealFinder, you can find the Flex for as much as 20% off. The Flex is a great investment if you’re looking for a more sophisticated way to track your health and its sleek design makes it a stylish accessory.
