Best h.h. gregg Black Friday Deals From 2013

Home appliance and consumer electronics retailer h.h. gregg sells technology products for nearly every room in the home. The store offers a variety of brand-name items from an array of categories, including refrigerators, washers, dryers, vacuums, TVs, tablets, computers and laptops.

In 2013, h.h. gregg released a 20-page Black Friday ad packed with deals on seemingly every appliance and electronic device imaginable. Like many retailers, h.h. gregg started the savings early by opening its doors at 8 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day. The store was open all night and into Black Friday. The holiday-themed ad promoting the seasonal sale promised shoppers up to 40% or more off on products and up to 24 months of special financing. Plus, h.h. gregg sweetened its 2013 holiday discount deals by giving one customer at each store his or her entire purchase for free. Dubbed the “Black Friday on Us,” the promotion awarded one holiday shopper at each of the 228 retail locations – plus one online shopper – everything in his or her cart for free. If that still wasn’t enough, there were mystery doorbusters revealed at 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Black Friday.

Here are some of the most impressive deals across the popular departments:

  • LG 60-Inch TV for $599.99 (save 47%)
  • 55-Inch Seiki TV for $399.99 (save 50%)
  • 50% off major appliances
  • Samsung 1080p LED Smart HDTV 32-Inch for $299.99 (save 33%)
  • Samsung 2.1-Channel Soundbar w/Wireless Subwoofer for $169.99 (save 43%)
  • Canon EOS Rebel T3i 18MP D-SLR Camera for $549.99 (save $150)
  • Free $100 h.h. gregg gift card with purchase of any 4G LTE Smartphone
  • 50% off all Klipsch speakers
  • Two for the price of one recliners

The special on Apple products particularly caught the eyes of shoppers. These deals included:

  • iPad mini 16GB for $249.99
  • iPhone 5s 16GB for $189.99
  • iPhone 5c 16GB for $49
  • iPod nano 16GB for $129.99

It’s important to know that several of the sale prices were achievable only after a mail-in rebate. Those reading the ad needed to be careful to note which deals came with rebates.

Taking this into account, as pointed out by ZDNet, savvy shoppers needed to decide whether h.h. gregg truly had the best deals. When it came to the iPad mini 16GB, for example, h.h. gregg had the tablet for sale for $249.99 after a mail-in rebate. The same item from Walmart was $299.99 and included a $100 store gift card upon purchase.
