You’re our first priority.
We believe everyone should be able to make financial decisions with confidence. And while our site doesn’t feature every company or financial product available on the market, we’re proud that the guidance we offer, the information we provide and the tools we create are objective, independent, straightforward — and free.
So how do we make money? Our partners compensate us. This may influence which products we review and write about (and where those products appear on the site), but it in no way affects our recommendations or advice, which are grounded in thousands of hours of research. Here's a list of our partners.
Bottom line? We’re on your side, even if it means we don’t make a cent.
Wal-Mart not only has an expansive inventory, but also many services that help shoppers unearth low prices.
Knowing how to guarantee free shipping or navigate the website and app are some of the ways you can increase your chances of walking away with a deal. Here’s how to get started.
The Wal-Mart website also lists deals. The all departments page, which you can access from the website’s drop-down menu, features a “Savings Showcase” with a few options. Here you’ll find links to the clearance, rollbacks and special buys pages, where you can see an assortment of marked-down products across all categories. Also under this section are value bundles, package deals on multiple or complementary items, like two pairs of jeans or a combo of bookshelves.
Wal-Mart’s “Dare to Compare” page highlights products that it sells at the same price as or less than competitors like Amazon, Best Buy, Target and Toys R Us. For additional savings, check the weekly ad and coupons pages and enter your email address in the box located at the bottom of the website.
Factor in the cost of delivery when you compare prices among retailers. Wal-Mart will cover your shipping costs if you meet the minimum threshold. The retail giant offers free two-day shipping on select online orders of $35 or more, no membership required. More than 2 million items qualify across multiple categories, including food, household goods, clothing and jewelry. Filter your search or look for items with the “2-day shipping” mark.
Orders of $35 or more will receive free standard shipping if the items are not eligible for two-day shipping.

If Wal-Mart is your main shopping destination, applying for a store credit card might be a good call. Wal-Mart’s cardholder benefits include savings on gas and other purchases at Wal-Mart and other retailers. But look into alternatives before you apply.
Save money by purchasing pre-owned electronics rather than buying new. Visit Wal-Mart’s refurbished page to find discounted prices on “like new” computers, smartphones, tablets and more.

Research prices elsewhere, especially for big-ticket items, before and after you make a purchase. Wal-Mart will match competitor prices in some cases when you shop online or in store. Read more about the price matching policy here.
Perhaps you have an old smartphone or tablet lying around. If so, consider trading it in online or at a participating Wal-Mart store in exchange for a gift card that you can put toward your next purchase.
When and how you shop at Wal-Mart are key to saving money. Start by using the Wal-Mart app to make a list and search for discounts. Besides checking the usual places for savings — like the clearance and coupons sections — consider other ways to pay less, including buying refurbished tech, taking advantage of price matching or trading in your electronics.
