Best Kmart Black Friday Deals From 2013

With locations around the nation, retail store chain Kmart is a trusted discount provider of furniture, apparel, toys, tools and electronics. The store merged with Sears in 2005.

Last holiday season, Kmart shocked shoppers by opening its doors at 6 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. That’s right, bargains began on Thursday morning, a full day before Black Friday. The discount department store unveiled its 2013 holiday savings in a 12-page Thanksgiving ad, plus an additional 68 pages of Black Friday deals. Savings opportunities extended into the weekend, with deals offered on Saturday as well.

What were the rewards for those shoppers who skipped their Thanksgiving dinner and hit the store instead? There were a host of Thursday deals, including:

  • Seiki 50-Inch class LED HDTV for $399.99
  • Xbox 360 4GB w/Kinect for $199.99
  • Buy one, get one free on all board games
  • Buy one, get one free on all footwear for kids
  • Character toys for $9.99
  • 50% off holiday decor
  • 50% off Disney Princess dress-up trunk
  • Up to 80% off all fine jewelry

Deals didn’t stop when the doors closed Thursday night. In fact, they ramped up when Kmart locations reopened at 6 a.m. Black Friday. Noteworthy doorbusters were a Proscan 22-Inch class LED 1080p HDTV for $129.99 ($40 savings), Sony sports behind-the-neck headphones for $7.49 (50% off), 12-Foot trampoline with enclosure for $184.99 (save $165) and up to 40% off audio speakers. Additional price cuts included:

  • Up to 80% off all fine jewelry
  • Up to 75% off all bridal jewelry
  • Buy one, get one free on all footwear
  • Buy one, get one free on all Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn toys
  • Buy one, get one free on all Power Ranger toys
  • Buy one, get one half off on assorted As-Seen-On-TV products
  • Women’s sweaters for as low as $6
  • 40% off kids’ and babies’ apparel

Members of the Kmart Shop Your Way rewards program could cash in on even more savings with exclusive member doorbuster offers. Nonmembers may have felt like they missed out on these member doorbusters, but for deal finders who began the morning without a rewards membership, Kmart offered free instant membership both in-store and online.

Overall, Kmart’s deals covered a diverse range of categories, with a particularly heavy focus on children’s toys and games. As the store isn’t a specialty electronics retailer, shoppers who wanted deals on toys and iPhones alike may have been better off shopping at Walmart or Target.
