CafePress Products, Offers, and Special CafePress Discounts and Deals

Shopping, Shopping News

CafePress was founded in 1999 in San Mateo, California by Fred Durham and Maheesh Jain. On March 29, 2012, CafePress became a public company debuting shares at $19 per share. Its headquarters are now in Louisville, Kentucky (after moving from San Mateo, California) and regional offices are located in the San Francisco Bay Area; Raleigh, North Carolina; Cheshire, Connecticut; and Atlanta, Georgia. CafePress offers customers both customizable and pre-designed products ranging from home items to clothing, and offers CafePress coupons to help shoppers save as well.

The company has six brands: CafePress.com, CafePress Pro, Imagekind, Canvas on Demand, Great Big Canvas, and Canvas on Demand Pro. In addition to the products CafePress offers, they also provide customization services for other major companies (such as ABC, Urban Outfitters, and Peanuts Worldwide) and a platform for smaller businesses to sell items. This latter feature allows small businesses to create websites, organize orders, handle payments, and provide customer service. CafePress is host to over 2.6 million shops. CafePress has been and remains at the forefront of the customization business, offering deals and great value.

There are over 325 million unique products on the CafePress site including clothing, accessories, decor, home items, art, and stationary. In addition to shopping by product, customers can shop by interest or by brand. Interests include: occupation, hobbies, and entertainment. Brands featured on the site include: American Apparel, Philosophy, and Thermos. Shoppers can use CafePress discounts to knock down the price of these premium brands to stay within budget. Customers can upload personal photos to customize items but most of the items in the online shop are pre-designed. Customers may also customize blank products or products that are already pre-designed.

When customizing products, the customer is allowed to choose the color, location of design, image (this can be uploaded by the customer or selected from the site), shape, text, and font. Regarding products that are already pre-designed, the designs on these items vary but the common thread is that they have the purpose of expressing something about the buyer. For example, designs include phrases like “Sorry for being myself” and “Keep Calm and Drink Tea”. This site is for customers who want to buy items that help exhibit aspects of their personality. Item designs feature things such as television show characters, famous quotes, art, animals, food and political values. CafePress boasts that customers can find unique products on the site because of the fact that roughly 160,000 designs are added daily.

CafePress offers customers special offers. At the bottom right hand corner of the site, customers can enter in their email addresses to receive special offers and promotions from CafePress (customers must be at least 13 years old). CafePress has CafePress coupons as well, which can be found on partnering websites. Coupons for free items are valid while supplies last but customers must pay shipping and handling fees and any taxes that may arise. Free items are only shipped within the United States. Free items cannot be returned for credit, redeemed for cash, or exchanged. CafePress also has discounts on many items throughout the online shop. These items do not require a CafePress coupon for the discount.
