Thank you, Sari, for sharing about SariBlue and your inspirational story!

Tell us about your online store and what inspired it:

SariBlue is an earthy, bohemian wear it everyday jewelry collection. Our items are handmade and focus on the talisman Evil Eye. The Evil Eye is a cross-cultural, historically rich talisman that brings luck and protection to those who wear it.

A few years back I had been traveling to Turkey on a regular basis and feel in love with the notion of the Evil Eye, the cultural meaning behind it, it’s real beauty and the way in which the beads are still made.

We make all our pieces in our shop outside of Boston, MA but get our beads directly from the master craftsmen who make each bead by hand. The method is super cool, eco-friendly and something that has been passed down generation to generation.

What is your favorite part of making jewelry and why?

Making jewelry can be really relaxing, for some reason I just get lost in the beads. I will often just pull out a ton of beads and sit on the floor to see what grabs me. There are no rules, just what comes along.

What are your most popular products??

One of our most popular items is our Baby Belly Bell seen here on Meghan Fox: It combines the luck and protection of an Evil Eye with a bola chime bell, some people call them Angel Callers, that the baby can hear while in your belly. It is a great gift for yourself or someone you know who is expecting.

Our Black and Blue Sparkle Set was fun to make and was in GLAMOUR UK twice! I was so happy about this, it is a gorgeous set, fun to wear together or each piece alone. Jeans or dressy with this works!

Our OM-G Bracelet and keychain that was created for Ryan Gosling has also been very popular. You can buy the items separately in our shop.

Who has been the greatest influence in your craft?

My girls motivated me to start SariBlue, they encouraged me to do something I had always wanted. They are inspirational little girls even when it comes to the collection. I draw lots of inspiration from boho and gypsy styled designers and old world Mediterranean images.

What is the best piece of advice given to you when you first started out?

Be patient. Good things do not happen overnight.

What tools or websites help you run your business?

We have a great interactive website on wordpress, and our shop is through Storenvy. I interact a lot with fans on Facebook, Twitter and really love to create boards on Pinterest. Google Analytics is great to determine where our customers come from.

What kind of coupons are your fans’ favorites?

We are offering a great 15% off coupon via NerdWallet. SariBlue doesn’t work with huge margins so our prices are already very low, so 15% is our highest offer J. We have also done free shipping and people loved this for the holidays! We plan to do this again in the spring and will keep you updated.

What are your goals for your store and the future of your business?

We have been lucky with our success in a short period of time. We have great fans and supporters it has been really amazing. The goal for SariBlue this year is to move towards larger retail shops that will carry our line. I am excited for this challenge and in full swing to accomplish this goal.

Who’s a fan of SariBlue?

We love to hear from fans and customers, and enjoy posting pictures of people wearing their SariBlue items. I do a lot of custom pieces upon request. It is great to work hand and hand with families or an individual to make just the right piece!
