In case you haven’t noticed, gas prices are plummeting. So much so, say analysts, prices are at their lowest levels in 27 months.

But which consumers are enjoying the cheapest of the cheap when it comes to the pump? NerdWallet set out to find the answer.

  • Among U.S. states, Ohio saw the largest price drop in September, falling 24 cents per gallon during the month.
  • Analysts there expect to see two out of three U.S. states with stations posting prices of less than $3 per gallon come fall.
