Cons
  • Requires good/excellent credit

  • Has balance transfer fee

  • No rewards

The Chase Slate Edge℠ can be a good option for consumers looking build up their credit or pay down debt without incurring any interest. The $0-annual-fee card features a 0% intro APR for 18 months on purchases and balance transfers, and then the ongoing APR of 16.49%-25.24% Variable APR. Plus, cardholders can potentially lower their ongoing interest rate and increase their credit limits.

However, cardholders will be charged a balance transfer fee of 5%. And in terms of long-term benefits, the card leaves much to be desired.

There are other 0% intro APR cards that offer longer interest-free periods and that come with more lucrative benefits — especially for those with good-to-excellent credit scores.
