The United Gateway℠ Card is a card aimed at occasional leisure flyers who often choose United Airlines.
It has an annual fee of $0, which means a free way to test out an airline card.
Ongoing rewards:
- 2 miles per $1 spent on United Airlines purchases, at gas stations and on local transit and commuting.
- 1 mile per $1 spent on all other purchases.
It’s a decent starter card to earn United’s MileagePlus frequent flyer miles. But given its lack of perks, such as free checked bags or early boarding, devoted United flyers might soon want to upgrade to a United card that offers more value, even if it comes with an annual fee.
