Why you might want the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card

Valuable welcome bonus

The
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
comes with a sign-up bonus of
60,000 Bonus Points after you spend $5,000 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.
NerdWallet values World of Hyatt points at
2.3 cents
cents apiece, so your new World of Hyatt point stash would be worth $1,380. And Hyatt’s Category 1 hotel nights start at 5,000 points per night, so your sign-up bonus could be worth up to 12 free hotel nights.

Additional rewards and benefits for spending with Hyatt

This is a co-branded credit card, so your highest earning rate per dollar will come from Hyatt-related purchases. You’ll earn 4 points per dollar on purchases made at Hyatt properties, including associated restaurants and spas. Members of the World of Hyatt loyalty program earn an additional 5 points per dollar on hotel bookings, so a cardholder can potentially earn 9 points per dollar spent on Hyatt purchases.
The credit card also gives you automatic World of Hyatt Discoverist elite status and allows you to gift Discoverist status to five recipients of your choice. You’ll also earn five elite night credits for each $10,000 that you spend on the card per calendar year.
Cardholders also receive up to $100 in statement credits each anniversary year; have access to the Hyatt Leverage program for discounted business travel rates; and have the potential to earn a 10% rebate on redeemed Hyatt points for meeting a $50,000 spend each calendar year.

Double rewards on your top shopping categories

Most credit cards establish your bonus categories for you, including the personal version of this business card. With the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
, you automatically earn 2 points per dollar on your top spending categories each quarter:
  • Dining.
  • Flights purchased directly through the airline.
  • Rental car agencies.
  • Local transportation and commuting.
  • Gas stations.
  • Internet, cable and phone services.
  • Social media and search engine advertising.
  • Shipping.
Cardholders will earn double rewards on their top three categories of spend each quarter through Dec. 31, 2024, and on the top two categories per quarter after that.

No foreign transaction fee

Some credit cards charge up to 3% for every charge you make overseas. In contrast, this card won’t cost you anything on international transactions.

Additional benefits

World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
holders also will be able to take advantage of complimentary roadside dispatch, primary rental car collision damage waiver, extended warranty protection, purchase protection, trip cancellation and travel interruption insurance, and travel and emergency assistance services.

Why you might want a different card

High annual fee

While a $199 annual fee isn’t outrageous, it’s still higher than many cards cost in this mid-tier business credit card range. For example, for an annual fee of just $
$95
, the popular
Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card
provides 3x points on travel purchases (and other bonus categories) up to $150,000 per calendar year, and lets you transfer those points to multiple hotel loyalty programs, including World of Hyatt.
That being said, the annual statement credit of up to $100 for spending at Hyatt properties may make the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
more appealing for the right demographic.

No free hotel night

While the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
offers a decent number of perks and benefits, you won’t earn any bonus free nights regardless of how much you spend.
In contrast, the personal version of this card includes one free night in a Hyatt Category 1-4 hotel for each year that you hold the card, plus a second free night for spending more than $15,000 within one calendar year. If you're a solo entrepreneur trying to decide between the personal and business Hyatt cards, it could be helpful to consider whether you’ll want this benefit.
Of course, you may need the benefits of a business credit card for reasons other than earning opportunity. But a solo entrepreneur who simply wants to earn Hyatt points from business-related expenses may want to compare benefits between the personal and business Hyatt cards to find the best fit.

Limited redemption opportunities

If you aren't a frequent Hyatt customer, the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
won't be the best fit for you.
Instead, consider the
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
if you're looking for a hotel co-branded business credit card with premium benefits. This card still comes with an annual fee —
$125
, less than the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
— but the
Marriott Bonvoy Business® American Express® Card
allows you to use your rewards at thousands of hotels worldwide, greatly expanding your potential opportunities for redemption.

Is the
World of Hyatt Business Credit Card
right for you?

This card is a good fit for business owners who frequent the Hyatt hotel brand enough to use the benefits of elite status and accelerated earning opportunities. If you don’t fit this profile, you might do best with a business credit card that earns more diversified rewards.
