I am on a limited income. I am 69 and my wife passed away 6 months ago.
I am sorry to hear you are having an arduous time with your bills.
Since you are on a limited income, if you can demonstrate to the medical provider that you have financial difficulties paying the bill, I recommend speaking to them. Frequently, if you are unable to pay the invoice and can prove to the provider your limited income, they will often reduce your fees according to your revenue. If you need additional assistance, please call me at 845-238-2532.
I know how difficult it can be to deal with medical bills, etc coming in after the loss of a loved one.
You want to make sure that the charges are correct and your insurance company billed for them. You should not pay any more than what your insurance company says you owe.
I would be happy to assist you if you wish. Please don't hesitate to contact us to help you navigate through the medical bill maze. Beth, your Medical Bill Detectives
My deepest sympathy for the loss of your wife.
I see some advocates have posted some wonderful advice but
I would also like to suggest that if the medical bills are for hospital services you will probably be eligible for financial assistance if you are on social security.
As for individual providers I would explain your situation and your limited income and hopefully they would be willing to reduce their medical bills due to your situation.
Best of luck to you!
