Hi all,

I was looking over secured credit cards(again)and come across one that allows you to add someone(like a spouse/loved one)to the account. I am aware that doing so I would be ultimately held responsible for their transactions. My question is, would the second card affect(improve)their score? I’m just wondering the mechanics of credit cards. Thanks in advance.

Hi, @deadmanmoshing. I’m afraid the frustrating answer is “it depends.”

It will help most if the primary user has a long history of on-time payments and uses only a small portion of available credit AND the authorized user is either new to credit or has a thin credit file. You can read more here:
