Ridiculous fees and trickery

I’m so tired of having to keep on top of these folks and their nefarious business practices. Every time I turn around they’re charging some sort of exorbitant fee, and then I have to either go to the branch or write to them and have them expunge it from my account. They’re slippery, so be on the lookout.

Overdraft charge

I had over 6,000 in combined accounts and forgot to transfer to cover mortgage ck. Despite doing it at 5am the next morning, they charged me $35! Plus, they are cutting hours and did away with the coin machine. They even charge for senior checking! NOT an American bank.

Good deal for people over 60 Checking!

They offer free checking for people over 60, along with unlimited free checks, and even give interest ! Not too bad, considering what is going on today! They have many branches all over! A good deal all around!!!

Unresponsive and irresponsible

Recently closed savings account at TD Bank after unsuccessful attempts to communicate my dissatisfaction with TD Bank financing of the dangerous and unjust Dakota Access Pipeline and attacks on Standing Rock Sioux tribe, their water supply and sacred lands. Will close remaining account as soon as automatic debits switched to new credit union

Rip off

They don’t care about the customers anymore. I have over 50k combined in my accounts but their poilicies about cards and fraud alerts etc are just so inconvenient. As soon as I can, I am going to close my accounts and move to a bank that is going to appreciate my business.

Horrible Bank

Ever since I’ve joined TD bank I’ve always had back to back issues with them! They seem to charge fees constantly and your obligated to maintain $100 in your checkings account. If your one cent under best believe you will be paying a $15 fee above all other fees they have. The list of cons for this bank goes on. Will be canceling my account with them as soon as my personal loan gets paid off!

Great Bank

I have read the reviews here, and honestly all the complaints are from “Anonymous” people whom most likely are not legit customers.

I am a current customer, and have been since 2012. The only issue I have is the regular checking doesn’t offer free check “Books”. I can get individual checks for free from my branch at any time. Just not the books you normally get. I don’t mind this as I rarely ever write checks anyways.

Their website is easy to use. I don’t understand the issue here with people. So is the App. I make mobile deposits regularly at LEAST once a month. On average 4x.

All the complaints I have seen prior to Feb, 11, 2017 are from people whom have failed to manage their own money in their own accounts or made a mistake and don’t want to pay their over draft fee, or their maintenance fee when they let their account slip under the minimum. This isn’t the banks fault but their own. Oh or they didn’t get a text message for blah blah service.

Tell you what, I am a HUGE reviewer on businesses and I am VERY picky who I bank with and where my investments are at. I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t like TD Bank.

Furthermore it’s one of the best 2 bank/credit unions out there that I appreciate thoroughly for being close to what I once had with WaMu.

Is your bank dog friendly? Is your bank open on Sunday? Does your bank phone service have this annoying automotive robot long list of options when all you want is a human being? You complain about your fees… Well treat your money with more care and be less careless with it and you wont have to take time to go to the bank and ask for a refund.

Thank you TD Bank. You have helped me on so many levels.

Phone wait times

I have been dealing with the fraud dept for a few days now. Each time I am on hold over 30 - 45 mins and twice, they dropped the call. Even when I was in the bank they had us wait a very long time. However, once you finally get a person on the phone they are wonderful. The fees at this bank are extremely high and there’s no cap.

Horrible Bank

I had a couple of bank charges for no reason. After I called they took it off. When calling make sure you have a lot of time to hold. Took an hour for anyone to answer. They don’t have a option to email if there is a low balance. Worst bank ever!

Beware- TD Bank is STEELING YOUR MONEY

My son has a student account and after 3 years they switched the account to another account with monthly fee $10.95 without any notice by phone or mail, Just like that. They got that for 14 months. When I noticed that, I thought it was just a mistake, so I went to the branch and I thought it will be an easy thing. They said they only can refund me 3 months, because it is my responsibility to follow my account as “I signed on the agreement when I opened the account”. I called customer service and the gave me the same cliche statement. With a simple calculation: A thief institution steels $10 per month from each customer for over a year from at least one million customers will collect 120 million dollars and will return max 30 million, so they legally stole 90 million dollars. I decided to close all my accounts and adviced all the people I know to do so and I advice everyone who read this to stay away from those thieves if they didn’t have an account with them yet. If you insist, please review your account activities every month.
I’m going to file a complaint thru a lawyer.

SCAM!!

This is a terrible bank. I will not recommended to anyone. They scammed my money and left me with a collection balanced. I opened a checking account online with TD Bank with $100, after a few weeks, I found out that they started charging me for all these weird fees that I didn’t sign up for. First, they charged me a “Paper Statement” fee, then a monthly maintenance fee. When I checked my account balance online, I was only left with $24!! I contacted the customer service to close my account, but they refused by telling me that my balance needs to be $0 in order for them to close my account. I was out of the country with limited internet access at the time, so I decided I will resolve the issue when I’m back in the United States. So when I returned home after 3 months out of the country, I found all these collections letter from TD bank saying that I owe a $21 balance…! I called the customer service again asking what’s going on, they transferred me to all these different departments because no one knew how to resolve this issue. So finally someone from the Collections Department told me that I had to go to a branch to close my account. When I arrive to the branch, the first thing that they asked if I want to pay my $21 balance. I explained to them that I don’t owe them anything and have asked many times to close my account. The woman at the bank refused to issue me a refund and telling me the reason they can’t close my account until it’s $0 balance because it’s good customer service for them to present the closed account check to their customer IN PERSON!! I can’t believe my ears! I lost all my money that I used to open the account, Plus, I owe them $21 after TD Bank refused to close my account. WHAT A SCAM!! THIS PLACE SUCKS, DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM.

After 11 years, the fees have become too much

I have been a loyal customer for 11 years, but TD is taking roughly $50 per month in account fees and ATM fees. I switched to M&T bank: no fees on accounts and they even refund ATM fees when I use a non-M&T ATM. Yes, it was inconvenient to change all my electronic credit/debits (direct deposit paycheck, ezpass, Amazon, PayPal, etc.), but it is so gratifying to have that TD account closed.

They get theirs

The biggest problem I have is the very poor customer service. I encountered rude and unhelpful service agents on multiple occasions. The Popmoney ACH service is very bad, and because it is a third-party vendor, there is no service on it at all. This bank is aggressive about charging fees; I had a bill payment come out on the same day as direct deposit went in, and they charged me $15 because at some point during that day, my account balance dropped to $88. The unexpected maintenance fee, which wasn’t taken out until the next month, triggered another maintenance fee when it pushed my balance below $100 again. Prepare to get fleeced, and don’t expect any sympathy from customer service when you do. I will be closing my account soon.

Horrible expereince on a Home Equity Line of Credit

Horrible experience trying to get a Home Equity Line of Credit. the processor was the most useless woman I have ever met. It took weeks for her to get things figured out. I faxed the forms only to have her say she never got them. I emailed them but then she complained the forms weren’t clear enough (now referring to the faxed forms). We agreed the loan should be done one way with her manager, and she goes and processes it the other way instead. She never responds to email or phone calls. Just extremely extremely frustrating

Bonus liars

They offer $300 for opening a new Premiere checking acct but deposited only $200. They said the deal changed, but the current web page still advertises $300. Their cust svc hopes that people will give up after long wait times.

Crooks, Illegal Operations

Absolute crooks. Stay away from TD Bank - they will steal your money. The customer service is horrible in this branch AND on the phone. Their technology is from the stone ages. They charge overdraft fees on pending transactions! This is absurd! I rented a car and stayed in a hotel - both places authorised around $500 for a security deposit. When I checked out amd returned the rental car, these authorizations would be removed
TD Bank charged me overdraft fees on these authorizations!! They were pending transactions. I’ve NEVER seen a bank do that. When I went into this branch to complain, the manager was so rude and cocky. Their website says they DON’T this and I showed this to manager but he would still not reverse the charges. They are just another evil bank that steals money from their clients whenever they can. Just Google “TD Bank class action lawsuit”. You will see that they have serious legal issues from charging illegal overdraft fees. Stay away from this bank.

Not client oriented, rude customer service, unwelcome business environment.

The appealing low balance for free checking and long business hours come with a hefty hidden price. If you do not care how you are treated (in branch or on the phone), if you don’t care that your banking concerns are not addressed or solved, if you don’t care about being told something on the phone and the opposite in branch, then TD Bank is for you. I’m taking my money somewhere else.

Fradulant bank!!!

In October and November 2016 TD Bank cleared from my account checks that do not belong to my company. There were different company name, address and signature on the checks but TD Bank let that transaction to go through. After doing reconciliation with my accounting I found those checks and called customer service. They agreed that checks are not mine and supposed to took care of it. Month later, no result. Stopped by at my local branch and spoke to manager. She was surprised about how it might happen. She fieled claim and said that everything will be taken care off. Two weeks later decided to stop by again to check on status - no result. This time we printed out checks (again, checks are not from my company, neither with my signature nor company name!!!) and filed official claim to fraud department. I was told that investigator will call me back. Two weeks later- no phone calls and no refund. Stopped by at bank again. Manager was really trying to help and she sent couple emails to escalate process. Finally, couple days later I received phone call that unfortunately bank can not do anything about that case since it was not reported in proper timing manner. All my argument that those checks do not belong to my company and it was bank who let that transaction without checking at least company name on the check- representative said that I am on my own. No one believed that TD bank let that happened. As of today, I have lost around $1200 because bank have not done authentication of the transaction.
