My Policy Car Insurance

My Policy was established in 1995 and is based in the West Midlands town of Halesowen, just outside Birmingham. My Policy is an insurance broker that specifically provides telematics policies to young drivers, a group that often face expensive premiums as they are considered ‘high risk’. By monitoring driving habits through the telematics device, My Policy aims to help people become safer drivers and reward them with more affordable car insurance. The company works with a number of major insurers to find customers a suitable policy including Aviva, AXA, and Markerstudy.

My Policy’s telematics device assesses drivers on a range of behaviours including accelerating, braking, speed, and time of day the vehicle is used. Drivers can see their score online, where they will be able to identify any areas where they could improve. As well as offering telematics policies to track safety, My Policy also provides ‘low mileage policies’, which could be suitable for individuals who don’t use their car excessively. The device measures how far the vehicle is driven, as well as the safety of the driving, to ensure customers don’t go over their set limit (although they may be able to purchase extra miles if needed).

Customers can choose different levels of cover including: third party only; third party, fire and theft, and comprehensive. Depending on the insurer the policy is purchased from, a range of additional features may be included such as in-car entertainment cover, personal accident cover, replacement locks, and windscreen cover. Customers may also be able to purchase extra cover if they want more protection, such as motor legal cover and breakdown cover.

The telematics device can also be used to help locate the vehicle if it is stolen.
