Screentrade launched in 1997 as an online insurance broker, before being purchased by Lloyds TSB in 2001. Ten years later, Devitt Insurance then purchased Screentrade and relaunched the company in 2014. Devitt was founded in 1936 as a motorcycle insurance provider and became Devitt Insurance Services in 1990 after merging its different lines of business. Because of its history, Devitt specialises in motorcycle insurance, although it does also compare and provide car insurance. They aim to make insurance policies straightforward and easy for customers to understand, as well as providing good value quotes. Screentrade offers drivers packages for different motor insurance policies, including car, bike, and van. The Romford-based company aims to provide competitive prices for car insurance by comparing some of the leading insurers including Aviva, AXA, and Markerstudy.

Screentrade offers the three standard levels of cover: third party only; third party, fire and theft; and comprehensive. Depending on which level of cover drivers choose, a range of benefits may be offered such as use of a courtesy car, stereo and personal possessions cover, windscreen cover, and European cover. These advantages may be subject to certain terms and requirements so drivers should check their policy to see exactly what is included. Customers may also be eligible for a discounted price if they have limited mileage, secure parking, and security systems.
