Senior Content Marketing Strategist, Social Media

The Senior Content Marketing Strategist, Social Media is responsible for executing, measuring, and optimizing against a defined channel strategy for Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and X with the objective to accelerate organic audience growth and engagement on NerdWallet’s owned social media channels. This role will lead content production and creative feedback cycles, performance reporting and measurement, and serve as a key touchpoint for ongoing cross-functional projects.

Projects you may be working on in this position include: 

  • Planning our monthly content calendar: identifying trends, cultural events and important financial topics to ensure we’re providing our audience with money advice that is incredibly relevant and helpful. Collaborate with our in-house team of content creators, designers and video editors to bring your plan to life on our channels.
  • Influencer strategy development and execution: Partnering with internal and external creative agencies to execute influencer campaigns that introduce NerdWallet to new audiences and accelerate our channel growth.
  • Social media reporting and data analysis: Utilize social reporting and social listening tools to tell us “what’s working, what isn’t, and why?” based analysis of our social media data. Create monthly share-outs to help your key stakeholders understand our testing roadmap and go-forward strategy.

Where you can make an impact: 

  • Lead the ideation of best-in-class organic social content across all social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X), evaluating concepts against communication strategies, brand values and business goals.
  • Manage internal process flows for the production, approval, and execution of static and video asset development in partnership with Creative, Legal and Content teams.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly content calendar to ensure consistent posting and a diverse range of content types across multiple social platforms. 
  • Track performance and metrics across all social media platforms to develop monthly and quarterly reports with actionable insights for continuous optimizations and channel growth.
  • Monitor social media trends, competitive activity, and financial news cycles and leverage them to enhance brand presence and audience engagement. 
  • Collaborate with cross-functional. teams to support integrated campaigns that extend onto our organic social media channels. 
  • Evaluate and respond to internal requests in partnership with cross-functional teams, prioritizing those that best deliver against social media strategy. 
  • Lead boosting strategy and optimization efforts across TikTok and Instagram, managing a budget of $100K+ to accelerate channel growth.

  • Analytical: You have a deep understanding of organic platform metrics and can evaluate brand fit and mitigate risk on social media channels.

Your experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Communications 
  • 5-7 years of experience in working on and brand social media channels, developing channel strategies for Instagram, TikTok, Twitter, YouTube, and Threads
  • Experience working with Brand Design, Legal, and Comms/PR teams
  • Experience with social media tools, including Sprout, Sprinklr, Brandwatch, Later, and more
  • Experience with social editing tools, including CapCut
  • Experience managing budgets 
  • 2-3 years of experience with social listening, including a deep knowledge of BrandWatch
  • 1-2 years of Paid Social Media experience 

Bonus points:

  • Experience working with influencers – campaign management and strategy 
  • Experience with brand activations and campaign strategy 
  • Can boost organic social posts for TikTok Spark Ads and Instagram In-App Boosting

Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
The pay range for this role is$96,000$180,000 USD
